XNEW MIDDLETOWN -- James John Putko, 5021 Simon Road, Boardman, and his bride, the former Casey Lee Christian, 2550 Spitler Road, Poland, honeymooned on a western Caribbean cruise after their wedding Feb. 21 at St. Paul the Apostle Church.
The Rev. Nicholas Shori officiated at the 2 p.m. ceremony, and later the daughter of Donald and Darlene Christian of the Spitler Road address and the son of James and Valerie Putko, 1161 Will-O-Wood Drive, Liberty, were honored during a reception at St. Mary Assumption Social Center, Youngstown.
Hand-beading of rhinestones, bugle beads and pearls accented the bodice and hemline of the bride's white, strapless matte satin gown styled with a full skirt and cathedral train.
Mrs. Putko graduated from Youngstown State University with a bachelor's degree in early childhood education.
Mr. Putko is the baseball director for All Star Sports in Boardman. He attends YSU and attended the University of Akron.
Honor attendant was Michele Stiner of Philadelphia. Bridesmaids were Christine Billock of Niles, Angela Notareschi of Poland and Shannon Deagan of Boardman. They wore claret-red dresses.
The brother of the groom, Timothy Putko, performed the duties of best man. Groomsmen were Adam Budziak of Painesville, the groom's cousin; Bill Christian of Poland, the brother of the bride; and Jamie Palumbo of Hubbard.
The couple live at the groom's address.
