How they voted
The gas tax increases were a part of the transportation bill approved in March 2003. The measure called for three 2-cent per gallon increases. The first increase went into effect July 1, 2003. The second is slated to become effective Thursday, and the third would be effective July 1, 2005. How Mahoning Valley lawmakers voted on the bill:
