BOXING Struthers bout card complete for Friday

Youngstown boxer Kelly Pavlik with fight a Mexican with 13 losses.
YOUNGSTOWN -- The card for Friday's professional boxing show at Struthers Fieldhouse was completed on Monday.
The card is highlighted by Kelly Pavlik's super middleweight 10-rounder against Pedro Ortega of Tijuana, Mexico.
Pavlik enters the ring with a 20-0 record that includes 18 knockouts. Ortega is 30-13-1 with 19 wins by KO.
Cameron Dunkin of Las Vegas, along with being an agent and co-manager of Pavlik, also manages Carney Bowman and Eric Nemo, a pair of tough fighters from York, Pa., welterweight Juan Buendia and Steven Luevano.
Dunkin and Top Rank matchmaker Bruce Trampler, who was in Youngstown last week, feel this event is a test of Pavlik's drawing power.
"Bob Arum feels we didn't do enough for Kelly when we promoted the card at Cafaro [now Eastwood] Field last year," Dunkin said. "Now [Pavlik] has the opportunity to be in the ring in his own back yard and a fan base that has supported him through a great amateur career can be there for him.
"If Kelly puts people in the seats like we feel he can, Top Rank will bring him back here to fight some of the best in the world."
Other matchups
Top Rank officials like a matchup between Timur Tulyakov and Hector Alejandro in a six-round lightweight fight.
Tulyakov, a brawling belter, comes from Russia, but fights out of Detroit, while Alejandro, from New York, is an up and coming talent who can box and belt.
"This is the best complete card from top to bottom that Top Rank has had in some time," said Pete Susans, a Top Rank official.
The card will begin with a four-round featherweight fight between Yamin Mohammad (1-5-1, 1 KO) of West Carrollton, and Eric Nemo of York, Pa., who will make his professional debut.
Three more four-rounders are scheduled. Darnell Boone of Youngstown (1-0, 1 KO) will go in against Shawn Williams (1-1, 1 KO) of Columbus in a middleweight fight.
Steve Vincent (2-1, 1 KO) of St. Louis will meet Juan Buendia of Mexico (2-0, 2 KOs) in a welterweight matchup.
Bowman (1-0) will enter the ring against Miguel Alvarez Morelos of Mexico (2-0, 1 KO) in a super featherweight fight.
Freddie Neal (17-2-2, 12 KOs) of Shaker Heights will take on Steve Luevano (23-0, 11 KOs) of La Puente, Calif., in a 10-round featherweight bout.
Weigh-ins will be conducted Thursday at Outback Steak House in Boardman.
Tickets for the show, which will be televised by the Telefutura Network, are available by calling Southside Boxing Club at (330) 501-5713.
