SOFTBALLTri-T Pony (ages 13-14)
Boardman Diamond Steel 12, Niles A-Z Plumbing 0 -- Justine Cullen fired a no-hitter and doubled. Brittany Burin and Kaeleen Kosmo had two hits apiece while Mimi Cercone homered. For Niles, Jess Barringer broke up the perfect game by reaching first base after a dropped third strike.
Travel
Valley Sting Purple 16U -- competed in the ASA National Qualifier in Barberton this weekend. Sting went into the sixth inning knotted up at 0-0 with the eventual tournament champion, California Grapettes from Modesto, Calif. A Grapette triple with two outs in the sixth brought home two runs and put the Grapettes on top to stay. Markie Pozzuto of Mecca threw a four-hitter for Sting, which stranded nine baserunners. Sting defeated Ohio Ice (Hair), 5-0 with Pozzuto pitching a two-hitter. Trisha Dreslinski of Kingsville had two triples and Allie Patton of Poland added a double and a single. Sting also lost 12-2 to California Lite from Orange County. Dreslinski tripled and a doubled while Amber Adley of Kingsville added a run-scoring double.
BASEBALLBabe Ruth (ages 14-15)
Line Drive 5, Kelly Robb 3 -- In a weather shortened game Line Drive held on to win as Joe Koch had a single, a double and three RBIs. Anthony LaVolpa had a double and an RBI. Dean Porter pitched four strong innings and Dom Silvestri closed out the fifth. For Kelly Robb, Frank Palestro and Alex Chick doubled.
Line Drive 12-6, Belleria Pizza 5-12 -- In the first game, Nathan Cope had two doubles and three RBIs while Cameron Anderson had a single, a double and three RBIs. For Belleria, Jeremy Savact had three singles and scored twice.
Sluggers 7, Salem AC 5 -- Sluggers' 14-hit attack was led by Greg Brown and Nick Turco with three hits each. T.J. Rosenberg and Chris Stewart had two hits apiece for Salem.
Rondinelli Tuxedo 13-13, Howland 6-0
Kelley-Robb 13, All Star Sports 5 -- John Madeline singled and scored a run. Marc Kanetsky singled, tripled and scored three runs. Corey Hitt tripled, singled twice, drove in three runs and scored three runs. Frank Palestro had two singles while Alex Chick singled and doubled. For All Star, Steve Besinger had three singles while Joel Melnick had two singles and Cody Bailey doubled .
Rondinelli Tuxedo 10, Line Drive 0 -- Cory Collins pitched a two-hitter with 11 strikeouts. Matt Dado was 4 for 4 with a double. Joe Koch and Nathan Cope had hits for Line Drive.
Babe Ruth (age 13)
Astro Falcons 16, Line Drive 5 -- Rick Segesto, Drew Fitzpatrick and Shane Wagner each had three hits in the Falcons' 18-hit attack. Shane Wagner earned the pitching win. Pat O'Brien had two hits for Line Drive while Nick Crum,Eric Sollers and Eric Walters pitched.
Howland 1, Line Drive 0 -- Justin Devanny pitched a complete-game shutout and scattered seven hits. Joe Aulizia added two base hits and scored the lone run. Pat O'Brien pitched a complete game for Line Drive, and had two base hits.
Wharmby 14, All Star Sports 11
Wharmby 8, Rondinelli 7
Line Drive 4, Rondinelli 3 -- Luke Franken's sacrifice fly capped a three-run sixth inning. Joe Carothers, Pat O'Brien and Brad Byers each had two hits. Corey Hill pitched the complete game for the win. Danny Baco and Chris Gauss had two hits and Nick DeNello tripled. Shawn Roman took the losw for Rondinelli.
Line Drive 6, Rondinelli 1 -- Zach Struharick pitched a complete-game six-hitter. Pat O'Brien, Corey Hill and Eric Soller each had two hits. For Rondinelli, Shawn Roman had two hits.
Astro Falcons 7-8, Howland 1-3 -- In the first game, Drew Fitzpatrick pitched a complete game, striking out seven and allowing one run. The Astros combined for 14 hits as Brian Visingardi and Drew Fitzpatrick had three hits each for the Astros. For Howland, Andy Zigmont pitched and Joey Aulizia had three hits. In round two, Trent Vallinger pitched a complete game while striking out six . Vallinger and Fitzpatrick had three hits each. For Howland, Ryan Glinn's two hits included a triple and Aulizia pitched.
Little b (ages 15-16)
Rondinelli Tuxedo 14, Youngstown Express 0 -- Ben Miller (4-1) and Brett Sulonen combined to pitch a four-hit shutout Rondinelli (20-5) was led in hitting by Miller, Ed Deluca and Sulonen who collected two hits apiece. Dave Diyorio doubled and had four RBIs. Miller also doubled. Express was led by Mike Berry with hits.
Wolf Contracting 8, Mill Creek Bandits 4
Rondinelli Tuxedo 1, Astro Falcons 0 -- Jeff Musick (4-0) pitched a complete-game shutout, striking out six and allowing six hits. Joe Iacobucci had two hits and Ryan Kellar drove in the game-winning RBI. For Astro, Matt Weir tossed a complete-game three-hitter.

Tri-T Colt (ages 15-17)
Boardman Boosters 11, Crestview 7 -- Tony Sferra was the winning pitcher while Tim Ortega's four hits included a double. Rick Olesky's three hits included a double. Craig Bletso tripled and doubled. For Crestview, Matt Petrosky's three hits included two doubles.
