CLEVELAND Matt Lawton makes a difference

The Indians' 5-3 win over Colorado moved them back to .500.
CLEVELAND (AP) -- Matt Lawton keeps hitting like an All-Star -- though he doesn't particularly care to be one.
Lawton doubled home two runs in the seventh inning to help the Cleveland Indians defeat the Colorado Rockies 5-3 Sunday.
"I came into this season knowing this was a big year for me and I'm energized," said Lawton, who leads the team with a .325 average after two injury-plagued seasons.
"I had something to prove and I'm getting after it, that's satisfaction enough, I don't need to be on the All-Star team or anything like that.
"I'm not one of those guys who wouldn't go, but it's like, been there, done that. Let Victor Martinez go. He deserves it."
Snaps slump
Martinez snapped an 0-for-15 slump with two doubles to leave his average at .306 with a team-high 54 RBIs.
Lawton drove an 0-1 pitch from Jason Jennings (6-7) to right-center, scoring Casey Blake and Ronnie Belliard to break a 2-2 tie in the eighth.
"He hit a changeup," Jennings said. "I didn't hang it, he's just a good hitter."
Matt Miller (2-0), one of three former Rockies pitchers used by Indians manager Eric Wedge, struck out two in one scoreless inning for the win.
David Riske pitched a perfect eighth and ex-Colorado closer Jose Jimenez worked the ninth for his eighth save in 11 chances. He gave up an RBI double to Vinny Castilla.
Cleveland moved back to .500 with its 14th win in 22 games.
"We just finished 20 games in 20 days and did an outstanding job," Wedge said. "I'm very proud of the way the guys fought back to win this series after losing the opener on Friday night. We found a way to get it done."
Ben Broussard drove in two runs, giving him 12 RBIs in his last five games for Cleveland.
He put the Indians ahead 1-0 with an RBI single in the second inning. Martinez doubled, went to third on a balk and scored two outs later when Broussard's broken-bat blooper landed just fair down the right-field line -- not much farther than the barrel of the bat traveled.
"At least it went down with a hit in it," said Broussard, who got another broken-bat bloop hit later in the game.
Ex-Rockies pitcher
Indians starter Scott Elarton, released by Colorado earlier this season, didn't allow a hit until Mark Sweeney doubled with one out in the fifth. Todd Greene followed with his third homer, hitting a 2-2 pitch into the left-field bleachers to make it 2-1.
Elarton caught a huge break in the sixth. Royce Clayton walked and, with one out, broke for second as Larry Walker hit a hard liner up the middle. Shortstop Omar Vizquel, who was breaking to cover second base, caught the ball with a little leap and tagged Clayton for a double play.
"I have needed a break and that may have been it right there," Elarton said. "I'll take it."
Elarton allowed two runs on two hits and three walks over six innings in his fourth start for Cleveland and first appearance against the Rockies since they designated him for assignment May 20. Elarton struck out four and lowered his ERA to 5.17 in four no-decisions with the Indians.
