ANOTHER LOSS: Former "Days of Our Lives" and "Guiding Light" cast member Richard Biggs passed away

ANOTHER LOSS: Former "Days of Our Lives" and "Guiding Light" cast member Richard Biggs passed away May 22, possibly from an aneurysm or a stroke, according to paramedics on the scene. He was 44. The actor appeared on "GL" as Clayton from 2001 until earlier this year, and spent five years as Marcus on "Days." Biggs' major roles also included a four-year stint as Dr. Stephen Franklin on the sci-fi series "Babylon 5." Biggs leaves a wife and two sons. Anyone wishing to donate to a fund set up for the children's education may write to The Benefit of the Children of Richard Biggs II, Washington Mutual Bank, 840 N. San Fernando Blvd., Burbank, Calif. 91502.
IN HIGH GEAR: NASCAR driver Casey Mears will guest-star on "Days of Our Lives" this summer. And the Chloe rumors have heated up again with the strong possibility that Nadia Bjorlin may return to "Days" before summer's end. If all the details are resolved, Chloe's arrival just might turn out to be the cliffhanger before "Days of Our Lives" is pre-empted for two weeks in August while NBC airs the Olympics. Also affected will be "Passions," which anticipates having its own surprise before the Aug. 16-27 break. But that won't involve Charity and Miguel, who are scheduled to make their departures at the end of July.
