Busin's triple in eighth delivers Livi past Astros



Wharmby Sports clinched a berth for the playoffs.
STRUTHERS -- Mike Busin hit a bases-loaded triple in the top of the eighth inning as Livi Steel defeated Astro Falcons 6-3 in the Class B League on Saturday at Cene Park.
Rick Banna (4-1) pitched a complete game with 12 strikeouts for Livi (18-6).
Robert Shannon (2-3) of Astros allowed three hits, and all six runs were unearned. Frank Turocy had two hits, including a double, for Astros.
Justin Byler of Astros tied the contest in the bottom of the seventh on Jared Bartholomew's double, which also scored Josh McKenney, who had walked.
An error started the Livi eighth inning, putting a man on first. A hit batsman and single loaded the bases. Shannon got a flyout to short right, and a groundball forced a runner at the plate before the Busin triple to right.
Wharmby 4, Propane 0
Wharmby Sports (20-4) clinched a berth for the playoffs. Jim Jaskawak pitched 31/3 innings of relief to pick up the win.
Jessie Alfreno and Pat Oman each had two hits for Wharmby. Chris Norris hit a double and two singles for Propane (8-15).
Dave Sugar Excavating 7, Mink Financial 6
Dave Sugar rallied for three runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to come from behind and upset Mink Financial.
Ryan Cameron (3-2) pitched a complete game to get the win. He had six strikeouts. Kyran Gardner had three hits for Sugar.
Dave Piersante and Shaun McDonald each had two hits, while Mike Brown drove in three runs for Mink (14-9).
Koch Construction/Line Drive 5, Roth Brothers 2
Koch Construction (16-8) scored three runs in the bottom of the third inning and went on to defeat Roth Brothers.
Adam Zakowski pitched three innings of relief to get the win, while Josh Susany pitched out of a bases-loaded jam in the seventh for his fourth save.
Nate Tacsik, Armani Johnson and Anthony Porter had two hits each for the winners. Mark Thomas added two hits, and Ben Mackall a double for Roth (3-20).
Rondinelli 15, Yo. Express 11
Rondinelli Tuxedo (13-11) scored 11 runs in the first two innings and collected 19 hits, five of them triples.
An eight-run third inning by Youngstown Express (2-22) wasn't enough to make up the difference.
Winning pitcher Tom Clayton (2-0) and Cameron Cimino had three hits apiece for Rondinelli. Pat Kelly had three hits for Express.
