Service invites teens
YOUNGSTOWN -- St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, 421 Covington St., will host a Mass at 4 p.m. today for the initiation of the parish's teenage ministry program. The service will be aimed at teens and young adults who would like to experience worship in the Croatian tradition. Hymns will be in English and Croatian, and Mass will be interpreted into sign language. A new Croatian flag and pole to be placed in the sanctuary will be presented. A social and refreshments will follow.
Cincinnati priest visits
YOUNGSTOWN -- Father Richard Kreimer, of Glenmary Home Missioners in Cincinnati, will speak at Masses July 3 and 4 at St. Luke Church, 5235 South Ave., Boardman, and at Immaculate Conception, 811 Oak St. Father Kreimer, at the invitation of the Diocese of Youngstown, will share information about his group's ministry in Appalachia, the South and the Southwest. Ordained in 1979, he has ministered in missions in North Carolina and Ohio and was associate director of Glenmary's Mission Office for nine years. Glenmary, a Catholic society founded in 1939, ministers exclusively in the United States to counties where less than 3 percent of the population is Catholic and the poverty level is twice the national average. It has 60 missions in rural areas serving people in 14 dioceses.
Church gets patriotic
GIRARD -- First United Methodist Church at 22 N. Market St. (across from the post office) will have "Celebrate America" services July 4. The Girard Community Band will play during the 10 a.m. worship service, and the church choir will sing. A potluck picnic will follow.
Group holds recitation
YOUNGSTOWN --The Shrine of Our Lady, Comforter of the Afflicted, 517 S. Belle Vista Ave., and the Queen of the Holy Rosary Prayer Group invite the public to a Rosary Cenacle at 6:30 p.m. July 7. Devotions will consist of the Rosary and Divine Mercy Chaplet recited during the Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament. Refreshments will follow.
Evangelists discuss theme
FARRELL, Pa. -- New & amp; Living Way Apostolic Church of Jesus Christ, 927 Lee Ave., will host an evangelistic meeting at 5 p.m. Sunday. The theme is "Adam, Where Are You?" Speakers will be the Rev. Joseph G. McNeal of Hour of Power Full Gospel Tabernacle, Farrell; Deacon Sydney Harris of Tabernacle of God, Ravenna; and Elder Jason A. Theodore of New & amp; Living Way, Farrell.
Camp brings missionaries
CONNEAUTVILLE, Pa.-- Peniel Holiness Camp Meeting, Route 18, will take place from July 15 to 25. Services will be at 10:30 a.m., 2:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. The Randy Keeling Family will be song evangelists. Evangelists are Earl Bailey, United Methodist, and the Rev. David Leeder, Church of the Nazarene. There will be children's programs every day from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Youth evangelists will be the international missionary team of Hamoongo Choongo from Zambia and Tomoki Yamanaka from Japan. Teens are invited to stay at camp for 10 days for $70. Rooms, tent and trailer spaces are available. Meals will be available in the dining hall. The camp is interdenominational.
