Roose anniversary is celebrated at Hubbard cafe

XHUBBARD -- A dinner party was held May 23 to mark the 50th wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Roose, 477 Erie St.
The celebration was held at 5:30 p.m. at Frankie's Main Street Cafe where guests were greeted by the couple's daughters, Holly Shamblin and Gretchen Roose, and a granddaughter, all of Hubbard. There is also another grandchild in the family.
First Christian Church was the setting May 21, 1954, as the former Norma Johnson and Mr. Roose were united in marriage. They are members of Central Christian Church.
Mrs. Roose was a secretary with First Federal Savings and Loan in Youngstown prior to retiring in 1996.
A veteran of the Korean War, Mr. Roose also served with the U.S. Army in Germany. He retired in 1996 from U.S. Can Co. where he was a high-lift operator.
