Pink Ribbon Classic scheduled for July 26

VIENNA -- The American Cancer Society's Pink Ribbon Golf Classic is planned for July 26 at Squaw Creek Country Club. The event is being held in honor of Nancy Hospodor, a registered nurse who worked for 30 years at Forum Health as a corporate clinical executive in cancer services, and in memory of Sue McBane, who died of ovarian cancer in December 2002.
Nancy Felton and Lucy Kelly are co-chairmen of the event, and title sponsor is United Community Financial Corp. Serving on the committee are Sandy Beckwith, Sandra Douglas, Pat Eddy, Ginny Johnston, Cheryl Miskell, Donna Mowrey, Delores Pernotto, Pam Planey, Cathy Santucci, Heidi Smith and Linda Strange.
Registration will begin at 8 a.m., and a continental breakfast will be served. A shotgun start will follow at 9, and teams of four will play in one of three divisions. A buffet lunch will follow the 18 holes of play, and winning teams will be announced. There also will be a Chinese auction and 50-50 drawing available.
Donation is $100 per person. Golf ball signs may be purchased in honor or memory of someone for $5 each, and program book acknowledgements will be obtained by those donating $35.
