AUSTINTOWN -- Hollywood Video, 5225 Mahoning Ave., will collect DVD players, DVDs, game systems and games for overseas troops on July 3, beginning at 10 a.m.
Store personnel also hope to receive a donation of a portable DVD video recorder so that friends and family can record messages before the donations are sent to troops.
A representative of the 546 Maintenance Company from Fort Polk, La., will collect the donations for transport overseas.
Summer concert
BOARDMAN -- Registration is under way for Boardman Orchestra Summer Community Orchestra, which will perform at 7 p.m. Aug. 8 in Boardman Performing Arts Center at the high school, 7777 Glenwood Ave. Current Boardman Orchestra students in grades 7 through 12, orchestra alumni and other musicians who live in the township are invited to join. Rehearsals will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesdays, beginning July 14, in the high school's large band room. Auditions are not necessary.

Photo contest
Professional and amateur photographers are invited to enter Youngstown State University's first annual CityScapes photo competition. The contest is co-sponsored by the Youngstown/Warren Regional Chamber.
The contest theme, "Neighborhoods: Where Our People Live" reflects faces and everyday lives of Mahoning Valley residents.
Entries are due by 5 p.m. July 16. Artists will be notified of results by mail the week of Aug. 2. There is a limit of three entries per artist. The cost per entry is $15 for professionals, $10 for nonprofessionals and $5 for high-school students.
First, second and third prizes for professionals will be $1,000, $750 and $500; for nonprofessionals, $500, $250 and $100; and for students, $250, $100 and $50. Photos accepted for the exhibit will be displayed in the Rose Marie Smith Gallery on the second floor of Tod Hall from Aug. 25 to Aug. 1, 2005.

Drama camp
COLUMBIANA -- The 34west Theater Company will sponsor a "Heroes and Villains" summer arts drama camp from July 12 to 16 at Das Dutch Village Inn for students in grades six through eight.
Classes will include character study, voice and movement, sword fighting, script writing, and improvisation skills. Lunch will be provided each day and there will be daily pool time.
The final showcase will be held July 19 at the banquet hall where refreshments will be served.

TAG classes
WARREN -- Openings remain for family classes in Trumbull Art Gallery's Richard Novak Summerfest series. The gallery is located at 196 E. Market St. A session for "Crown Heads" -- that is, making crowns with art supplies -- will be from 1 to 4 p.m. Wednesday for $5 per family. A cookie-decorating session at 1 p.m. July 5 is free. Band and chorus
BOARDMAN -- The United States Army Field Band & amp; Soldiers' Chorus concert at 8 p.m. Tuesday in Boardman Park will conclude with a fireworks display. The concert is free, and seating on the lawn of Maag Outdoor Theatre.
