Little b (ages 15-16)
Wharmby 8, Howland 6 -- Mark Lapikas pitched seven innings, scattering seven hits, and had eight strikeouts. Jae Leeworthy and Garen Ream each had two hits for Wharmby while Shawn Pelo had two hits for Howland.
Rondinelli 10, Wolf Construction 9 -- Rondinelli (15-4) won for the 13th time in the last 14 games as T.J. Stoian tripled and doubled. Chuck Olesky, Joe Iacobucci, Dave Diyorio and Ben Miller also had two hits and Diyorio had four RBIs. Ryan Kellar (2-0) picked up the win in relief of Tom Popadak who left the game in the fifth inning with an injury. Wolf Construction was paced by Mike Barker, Tom Keil, and Nick Izzo who had two hits apiece. Dave Summers was the losing pitcher.

Rondinelli 11, Roth Bros. 5 -- Rondinelli collected 14 hits. Ryan Kellar and Ed Deluca had three each, including doubles. Chuck Olesky, Zach Russell and T.J. Stoian had two hits. Russell and Stoian doubled. Jim Bigley (3-1) pitched a complete game, striking out six for Rondinelli. For Roth, Nick Backo had a four-hit game with two doubles. Coullen Owens was the losing pitcher.

Roth Brothers 8, R & amp;J Trucking 5 -- Mike Kampfer's three hits included a double. Couleen Owens had two hits while Josh Testa and Tim McBride had one. Robert Goeske was the winning pitcher. For R & amp;J, Sebastian Goday doubled. Losing pitcher Billy Carrorre struck out seven batters.
Babe Ruth (ages 14-15)
Line Drive 12, All Star Sports 2 -- Line Drive scored four runs in the first and seven in the fifth. Nathan Cope and Jon Tatarka had two RBIs each as eight players scored. Cameron Anderson pitched the five-inning two-hitter. For All Star Sports, Chris Bruno and Jeff Bruno had singles.

Salem AC 9, Wharmby Sports 7 -- Josh Dankovich had three hits while T.J. Rosenberg, Dana Rose and Derek Ball all had two hits and Zack O'Brien one. For Wharmby, Mark Lapikas and Cory Treharn had three hits apiece while Brad Blevins and Ross Revella had two.
Kelley-Robb 6, Salem AC 2 -- Marc Kanetsky, John Madeline, Mike Backes and Matt Lopuchovsky had singles. Corey Hitt doubled driving in a run and scoring a run for Kelley-Robb. Derek Ball, Sean McKee, Lucas Rambo, TJ Rosenberg and Brandon Holland all singled for Salem. Dana Rose had a triple and scored a run.
Rondinelli Tuxedo 18, Astro Falcons 5 -- Jesse Moses pitched a four-hitter and also got three hits. Cory Collins homered and doubled while Tony Brunetti added three. Mike Hoelzel had two hits while Matt Dado had four walks and a single. Mark Turnbull had two hits for Astro.

Wharmby Sports 6, Astro Falcons 0 -- Evan Anzio pitched a complete game shutout. Joe Manilla and David Saluga connected for a two-run two-out singles. Ricky Seqesto had three hits. Trent Wallinger and Shane Wagoner pitched for AllStar.
Rondinelli 8, All-Star Sports 2 -- Anthony Franceschelli and Vince Pensa combined to pitch for Rondinelli. Leading hitters for Rondinelli were Chris Gauss. Dominic Jackett and John Simon. Victor Cardarelli and Dustin Corso played well for All-Star Sports.
Astro Falcons 8, All Star Sports 3 -- Rick Segesto pitched a complete game for Astro, allowing three hits. Steve Richards pitched for All-Star. Drew Fitzpatrick went 3 for 3 and Robbie Mumford had a bases-loaded double to drive in three runs. Owen Timlin went 2 for 3 for All-Star.
Rondinelli Tuxedo 9, Howland AC 2 -- John Simon, Shawn Roman and Mike Piesto combined to pitch a victory for Rondinelli. Danny Baco, Anthony Franceschelli and Chris Gause led the winners with two hits. J. Kirin doubled for Howland.
Tri-T Colt (ages 15-16)
Boardman Boosters 7, East Liverpool All Sport Supplies 3 -- Tony Sferra was the winning pitcher and Ricky Olesky's two hits included a double. Sferra, Ryan Walters and Craig Bletso each had two hits each. For East Liverpool, Steve Young had two hits.
Boardman Boosters 12, East Liverpool All Sports Supplies 9 -- Bradley Moody was the winning pitcher. Tim Ortega, Adam Chizmar and Billy Dionisio had two hits each. Ricky Olesky doubled. For East Liverpool, Taylor Smith and Zach Campbell each had two hits.
Struthers Davidson-Becker 12, Niles William Kramer & amp; Sons 0 -- Steven Streb pitched a no-hitter, striking out six batters. Dave Yash hit two doubles and Jim Matricardi added another double for Struthers. Anthony Palmer played well defensively for Niles.
East Liverpool All Sport 16, Austintown Artistic Images 9 -- Garrett Miller was the winning pitcher and Andy Lubich earned the save for East Liverpool (4-3). Kris Carr's three hits included a double. Miller and Taylor Smith also had three hits. Kevin Clark's two hits included a double. For Austintown (6-4), losing pitcher Adam Sterling had two singles. Shane Price's three hits included a triple and double. Mike Lyden and Tim Connell singled.
Columbiana DeChellis Dental 10, Austintown Artistic Images 4 -- Tom DeChellis had three hits and four RBIs. Greg Snyder had two hits and scored three runs. Robert Benzinger's two hits included a triple. For Austintown, Tom DeToro scored twice and Todd Mounce had a RBI double.

Poland Spartan Chevrolet 8, Canfield 4 -- Matt Srnec had four hits, including a double, while Tyler Kelley added two hits, one a double, and Joe Renaud two hits to lead Spartan. Ray Bozak and John Perto combined to pitch the win. For Canfield, Brian Stolte had two hits,
Poland Spartan Chevrolet 18, Leetonia-Southern Local 10 -- Rob Fuller and Dan Bennett combined for the mound win. Ray Bozak rapped two doubles while Tyler Kelley collected two hits and scored three to lead Spartan. Joe Renaud and Chris Hanna each had two hits to aid the winners. Anthony Danko and Aaron Valentine had two hits apiece for Leetonia.
Tri-T Pony (ages 13-14)
Poland Perkins Builders 9, Salem Smile Wright 2 -- Drew Petro and Gannon Hulea led Poland's 15-hit attack. Brandon Smercansky and Sam Becherer had two hits apiece. For Salem, Scott Guiler singled.
Poland Perkins Builders 9, Boardman GF Insulation 6 -- Gannon Hulea and Mark Carlozzi had three hits apiece and Brandon Smercansky doubled in two runs. For Boardman, Kevin Mills doubled twice and Chaz Sanfillipo singled.
SOFTBALL
Valley Sting Purple 16U fastpitch team -- finished second in the consolation bracket at the 32-team Compuware Tournament in Detroit. Sting victories included a 3-0 decision over Compuware (Michigan) in which Markie Pozzuto of Mecca pitched a three-hit shutout with 10 strikeouts. Allie Patton of Poland had the key hit with a two-run single. Trisha Dreslinski of Kingsville shut down the Michiana Mystique (Indiana) 2-1 on a four-hitter with late inning help from Pozzuto and Cortland's Chelsea Butler with a key run-scoring single. Patton tossed a four-hit gem in a 4-1 victory over the Indiana Storm with RBI support from Kari Thompson of Poland, Amber Adley of Kingsville and Butler. Next came a 3-2 nine inning thriller over Aftershock (Michigan). Dreslinksi went six strong innings and was relieved by Jessica Sferra of Columbiana, who pitched three strong innings to get the win. Butler's two-RBI single was the key hit for Sting. The highlight of the tournament for Sting came in a 4-3 upset victory over the Arvada Ice from Colorado. Patton pitched a six-hitter with Sferra coming in to get the save in the seventh inning. The offense was led by Amy Downs of Cortland and Butler with two hits each. In the consolation finals, Sting lost 3-1 to a tough Cincinnati Elite Blue team. Patton had two hits while Ashley Conger of Poland had a hit and made several great defensive plays. Sting also lost 3-1 to the Arvada Ice and 2-1 to the Orland Park A's (Illinois). Sting plays next in Barberton this weekend in an ASA National Qualifier against the California Grapettes.
