Miss Blair to wed Jerry Thurston in California

XFRESNO, Calif. -- Dr. Diane Blair and Jerry Thurston, both of Fresno, are engaged.
The bride-to-be is a daughter of Sara and Gerald Blair of Mineral Ridge. The future groom is a son of Gerald E. Thurston of Exeter, Calif., and the late Anita Mae Thurston.
The bride-elect graduated from Mount Union College in Alliance with a bachelor's in communication and from Ohio State University in Columbus with a master's in communication. She earned a doctorate in communication at the University of Maryland in College Park and is an assistant professor in the department of communication at California State University in Fresno.
The prospective groom earned bachelor's and master's degrees in communication from California State University. He is an instructor of communication at Fresno City College.
The couple will be married during a ceremony at noon July 31 at Cambria Pines Lodge Historic Gardens in Cambria, Calif., where a reception also will take place.
