John Kerry to make a campaign stop in Canton

COLUMBUS -- Presumptive Democratic presidential nominee John F. Kerry returns to the Buckeye State on Friday with an appearance in Canton, the Kerry campaign said.
Kerry will host a town hall meeting in the Stark County city with families who've been hit hard by job losses in Northeast Ohio. Details such as time and place are still being worked out, the Kerry campaign said.
"It will be about the economy. It will be about John Kerry's plan to create 400,000 jobs in Ohio," said Brendan Cull, the Kerry campaign's Ohio press secretary.
At least one Stark County Democrat says he expects that the message from Kerry, a U.S. senator from Massachusetts, could resonate in the jobs-starved region.
& quot; You talk to people here -- both Republicans and Democrats -- the big concern is the job losses," said Stark County Prosecutor John D. Ferrero, a Democrat.
According to the Kerry campaign, Kerry would push to reform the country's tax laws, eliminating tax breaks for companies that create jobs overseas and using the approximately $12 billion in annual savings to cut the corporate tax rate.
