BAZAARS
XSalem Memorial Building Association will hold the 16th annual summer arts and crafts bazaar is planned from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday at Centennial Park, East Pershing Street, Salem. Lunch also will be available, and a Chinese auction is planned. Proceeds from space rentals will benefit the Memorial Building, and proceeds from the lunch and auction will benefit Columbiana County on Aging. For information call (330) 332-5512.
FESTIVALS
XMill Creek MetroParks will hold a rose festival from noon to 5 p.m. Sunday at Fellows Riverside Gardens, 123 McKinley Way, Youngstown. The event will feature hands-on activities, a judged rose show, a miniature rose sale, educational demonstrations and a lecture at 2 p.m. on miniature roses by Randy and Terry Lady.
FUND-RAISERS
XEast Coast Four Wheel Drive Association will celebrate its 35th anniversary with activities during the Fourth of July weekend at Tri-County Race Grounds in Lisbon. Gates will open at 8 a.m. July 3 and 4; admission is $9. There will be trail rides, competition racing and a community service project. Participants and spectators are being asked to "Fill Up the Pickup" by donating nonperishable food items. XEaster Seals Drive for Dough event will be held Saturday and Sunday under a big top at The Shops at Boardman Park. Featured will be a night at the races, barbecue dinner, car show, live auction, entertainment and fireworks. A high-definition DLP rear projection television will be raffled with the drawing Sunday. XThe Inn at Christine Valley, 3150 S. Schenley Ave., Youngstown, will participate in The Great American Bake Sale with a "Sweet Senior Treats" bake sale Thursday to benefit nonprofit organizations fighting child hunger.
XSears at Southern Park Mall, Boardman, will hold a day-long haircut promotion from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday to benefit the Sears American Dream Campaign. Haircuts will cost $6. The hair studio, in conjunction with 105 hair salons, has pledged a donation to the campaign that supports family-focused programs including educational programs on home ownership and maintenance.
SALES
XAn indoor/outdoor craft show and flea market will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. August 14 at the Austintown Salvation Army, 6431 Mahoning Ave., Austintown. Interested vendors should register by calling (330) 793-6434 by July 7.
XCoalburg United Methodist Church, 1906 Wick Campbell Road, Hubbard, will hold a rummage sale from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
XParadise United Church of Christ, 10020 New Buffalo Road, Beaver Township, will hold a garage sale from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday. Space is available for rent at $15. Food also will be available. The sale will take place indoors in the event of rain. Proceeds will benefit the church pew and carpet fund.
XSt. Pius X Parish Community, 1401 Moncrest Drive N.W., Warren, will hold a rummage sale from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. today through Wednesday, and 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday.
SPECIAL EVENTS
XEverGreen, a ministry of the Humility of Mary Sisters, will sponsor a Herb Day, a tour of four herb gardens, from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. July 10. Participants should meet at Villa Maria in Villa Maria, Pa. Sharon Sonnett of the Old Stone House Herb Club will guide participants through the colonial gardens at the Old Stone House in Slippery Rock, Pa. The next stop will be Crystalaire Herbscapes in Harrisville, Pa., where herbal teas, jellies and scones will be offered by Joyce Harris. Next on the tour will be Pine Knoll Herbal Greenhouse, Grove City, Pa., where Patty Mace will demonstrate how to make stepping stones. Conners Country Gardens in Mercer will also be on the tour, and lunch will be at the Greenhouse Restaurant, Grove City. The cost is $30 and includes lunch. Registration is limited to 30. XCollectors are invited to participate in a picnic/swap meet to be held by the M & amp;M's Collectors Club July 31 at Firestone Park in Columbiana. Setup begins at 10 a.m. and is followed by lunch, games, raffles, door prizes and an auction. The event is free to collectors, who are asked to take a dish to share; hot dogs and beverages provided.
