DRUGS AND STOLEN PROPERTY 2 women plead innocent to charges

Police said they found stolen baby food.
CANFIELD -- Two women have pleaded innocent to several charges stemming from a traffic stop Friday morning.
Laurie Olenik, 41, of Stratmore Avenue, Youngstown, is charged with receiving stolen property, possession of drug abuse instruments, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of dangerous drugs, failure to reinstate a driving suspension, and having an inadequate car exhaust system.
Deana Lile, 36, of Ayrshire Drive, Austintown, is charged with receiving stolen property and falsification. Lile also was wanted on a warrant by Boardman police. Canfield police reports do not say why Lile is wanted in Boardman.
Olenik and Lile pleaded innocent to the charges Friday in Mahoning County Court in Canfield, and their next hearings are set for July 2.
Police said Olenik was driving a car they pulled over about 8:30 a.m. Friday on Scott Street for having a loud exhaust. Lile was a passenger in the car. Officers found that Olenik had a suspended driver's license. Olenik told police that she was having a bad day and she was on her way to the Mahoning County jail to begin a prison sentence for driving under the influence, reports state.
When police tried to arrest Olenik for driving under suspension, she pulled a white pill from her pants pocket, put it in her mouth, and swallowed it, reports state.
An officer grabbed Olenik by the jaw and the back of her neck in an unsuccessful attempt to stop her from swallowing the pill.
Cardinal Joint Fire District paramedics told police Olenik had stable vital signs after swallowing the pill, and an ambulance took her to the hospital (reports do not say which hospital) for observation.
Fake name given
Police then questioned Lile, who gave officers a fake name and said she was a social worker, reports state.
Lile later gave her correct name to officers and was arrested. Reports state that officers searched the car and found two syringes, a spoon that was burned on its bottom, and two Giant Eagle shopping baskets containing 30 bottles of baby formula. Lile later told police she had stolen the baby formula, which she planned to sell to a convenience store to raise money to buy drugs.
