SACRAMENTO, Calif. -- Swin Cash outdid even herself in leading the Detroit Shock to their fifth straight win. Cash scored a career-high 29 points, helping the defending WNBA champion Shock beat the Sacramento Monarchs.
Lynx 66, Comets 58
MINNEAPOLIS -- Katie Smith scored 22 points to help the Minnesota Lynx snap a two-game losing streak with a victory over the Houston Comets. Tamika Williams added 12 points and 11 rebounds for the Lynx (5-5). Sheryl Swoopes, slowed by a sore right ankle, led the Comets (6-6) with 18 points.
Storm 74, Silver Stars 61
SAN ANTONIO -- Lauren Jackson scored 27 points to help the Seattle Storm push their winning streak to six games with a victory over the San Antonio Silver Stars. The Australian star, in the headlines recently after posing nude in an Australian magazine that features Olympic athletes who will compete in Athens, was playing her 100th WNBA game.
Fever 70, Liberty 65
INDIANAPOLIS -- Tamika Catchings had 25 points and 12 rebounds -- both season highs -- to lead the Indiana Fever to victory over the New York Liberty. It was Catchings' first double-double of the season and the 24th of her career.
