SCRAPPERS NOTEBOOK From Eastwood Field

Rested: Mike Butia, the Scrappers' fifth-round draft pick out of James Madison University, who went 4-for-4 in the season opener Friday, sat out Saturday's game after suffering a cramp running to first base in the seventh inning on Friday.
New addition: The Cleveland Indians signed seventh-round pick Mark Jecmen, a 6-foot-8 right-handed pitcher out of Stanford University, and assigned him to Mahoning Valley. He was in uniform Saturday night.
Big changes: Scrappers manager Mike Sarbaugh, with Butia out of the lineup, made some major position and lineup changes for Saturday's game. Only second baseman Chris Clem, center fielder Jose Cruz and right fielder Teo Encarnacion were in the same positions they were in Friday night.
Today's starter: Left-handed pitcher Matt Haynes will make his first start of the season today against the Doubledays at 2 p.m. at Eastwood Field. Haynes spent his last two seasons at Burlington in the Rookie League and compiled a 4-3 record with a 3.34 ERA. He started 30 games in his career and pitched eight more in relief. He's a native of Marochydore, Australia, and was signed as a free agent in 2001.
Two in a row: The two straight wins over the Doubledays matched the best win streak that Mahoning Valley had against Auburn all last season. The two teams will play 15 times this season.
