Prayers for RMI lockout
NILES -- The Niles Clergy Association is continuing weekly prayer services for the peaceful resolution of the lockout at RMI Titanium, in Weathersfield Township. Services will be at 7:30 p.m. each Tuesday. Dates and locations are June 22 at St. Luke Episcopal Church, June 29 at Southside Presbyterian Church, July 6 at St. Stephen Catholic Church and July 13 at Trinity Lutheran Church.
Christian rap concert
YOUNGSTOWN -- Spanish Evangelical Church, 1408 Rigby St., will hold Jersey Jam '04, a Christian rap concert, at 6 p.m. June 26. Wear a jersey from your favorite team. The show will feature Judah E, Warriors of the Cross, Infinite Squad, The Beat Lab, PG-13, Im & aacute;ge and others. There will be free hot dogs and refreshments and 3-on-3 basketball.
Community worship
Warren Ministerial Association will have its annual community worship at 10 a.m. June 27 in Courthouse Square at the Gazebo. Rev. Caroline Bloomfield, pastor of Central Christian Church, will deliver the sermon "Changing World, Constant God -- Love." Pat Cline of the Flood Relief Committee will speak on flood relief in the area, and all loose offerings will go to flood relief. A multicultural picnic will follow at Packard Park. There will be games for children and entertainment for adults.
Voice of Hope awards
Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Youngstown is accepting nominations for the annual 2004 Voice of Hope Awards through July 16. These awards go to an individual, a Catholic parish and a Catholic institution demonstrating excellence, creativity and leadership in charity and justice on behalf of disadvantaged people. Performances planned
YOUNGSTOWN -- Lyric Supremes will perform at 4 p.m. June 27 at Phillips Memorial Baptist Church, 1407 Victor Ave. (off Albert Street). Weaver Brothers will be guests. Donations for tickets are $15 in advance and $20 at the door. Tickets are available at the church, Goldie's Flower Shop, McGuffey Centre and the Family Christian Book Store. Outdoor movie night
HOWLAND -- Howland Community Church, 198 Niles-Cortland Road N.E., will have an outdoor movie night at 9 Friday in the back courtyard. The movie "Brother Bear" will be shown, and refreshments will be served. Bring a chair or blanket. For information, call (330) 856-3628. The movie, which is free, will be shown rain or shine.
Flame Fellowship event
YOUNGSTOWN -- Patty Scahill, director of Hosanna Ministries, will speak at the Youngstown Flame Fellowship at 7 p.m. Monday in the Georgeanna A. Parker Activity Center in Boardman Park.
Family Kite Day set
HOWLAND -- Howland Community Church, 198 Niles Cortland Road, will have its second annual Family Kite Day from 10 a.m. to noon June 26 Children will create kites from kits and then fly them. The event is free to children age 3 through grade five.
Trip deadline extended
WARREN -- St. Pius X Parish Community has extended the deadline for its trip to shrines in the Philadelphia area. Those who wish to take the motor-coach tour have until July 10 to make a down payment. The pilgrimage, set for Oct. 1-3, will include four shrines and stops at the Liberty Bell Pavilion and the National Constitution Center.
