GIRARD
June 13
Arrest: Police arrested a Vienna boy near Ohio Avenue and charged him with operating with willful or wanton disregard of safety. Police said they saw someone on a yellow dirt bike racing on North Davis Street and Plymouth Avenue and that when they tried to stop him, the boy fled on the dirt bike.
Criminal damage: A man in the 50 block of Emma Street reported that someone used a key to damage both sides of his vehicle and its hood while it was parked at Kuzman's Bar, 1025 S. State St.
Theft: A woman in the 600 block of Trumbull Avenue discovered a CD player missing from her car parked in a yard in the 300 block of Taylor Avenue.
June 14
Domestic violence: Police arrested a 14-year-old boy at his home in the 400 block of Illinois Avenue on a domestic-violence charge after his stepmother alleged the boy kicked her in the shin after she tried to calm him down. She also said he head-butted her, striking her upper lip and knocking some teeth loose.
Theft: A woman reported tote bags containing some pictures and a pair of her daughter's roller skates were missing from a hallway in her apartment building in the 100 block of East Main Street.
June 15
Assault: A man in the 200 block of Louis Circle told police his former girlfriend's father came to his home and kicked the victim in the leg.
LIBERTY
June 8
Theft: An employee at a BP gas station, 2703 Belmont Ave., reported that a man age 35 to 45 stole 19 cans of coffee and a box of cough drops. The loss was about $113.
Possible theft: A man reported a $100 cellular phone lost or stolen from his home in the 5100 block of Fifth Avenue.
Fraud: A Hubbard man returned from vacation and discovered that $3,979 worth of fraudulent charges and withdrawals had been made using his automated teller machine card and debit card.
Forgery, bad checks: An employee at the Liberty Mini Mart, 3007 Belmont Ave., told police a woman cashed three $115 state checks and that one had been forged.
June 9
Vandalism: A 40-year-old Pittsburgh man was charged with one felony count of vandalism after police responded to the Tallyho-tel, 4249 Belmont Ave., and found furniture, a window and other contents inside a room broken.
Breaking and entering: A man in the 1800 block of Oriel-Rodgers Road discovered that someone broke into his garage and stole a $1,000 bow, a gun scope and a $500 gas generator.
June 10
Theft: A woman in the 6200 block of Kline Drive discovered $500 had been removed from her purse while she was in the process of moving.
Theft: A man in the 2900 block of Northview Boulevard reported that his wallet containing $300 was stolen while he was at Antone's Italian Cafe, 3551 Belmont Ave.
Criminal damage: A woman reported that someone did about $300 worth of damage to her vehicle's front windshield at her home in the 4300 block of Sampson Road.
Theft: An employee at America Coming Together, 3657 Belmont Ave., noticed a $250 laptop computer missing from an office.
Unauthorized use of a vehicle: A woman in the 10 block of Trumbull Court alleged a boy, 15, working on her 1989 Ford Thunderbird took the vehicle without permission.
June 11
Attempted breaking and entering, recovered property: After responding to an alarm at Custom Performance Products, 2954 Youngstown-Hubbard Road, police found a 1986 Chevrolet Z-24, determined to have been stolen in Austintown, parked behind the business. Nothing was missing from the store after someone tried to pry open the front door.
Theft: A man reported a $125 stereo amplifier and a radar detector stolen from his car at his residence in the 4100 block of Logangate Road.
Bad check: An employee at Giant Eagle, 4700 Belmont Ave., reported that two people tried to pass a counterfeit payroll check.
Assault: A Youngstown boy, 15, told police that a 21-year-old Girard man punched the teenager in the face as they played basketball at Church Hill Park, 2316 Belmont Ave. The boy had a bruise near his eye, and the right side of his face was swollen.
Burglary, menacing: A woman in the 3000 block of Green Acres Drive alleged her former boyfriend, 43, entered her home intoxicated, took an undetermined amount of money from her coffee table and ransacked her apartment. She also said he had made harassing phone calls.
Assault: A Brookfield woman alleged a Girard woman, 40, assaulted her during an argument at Spags bar, 5718 Belmont Ave. The victim was struck in the face but was not injured.
June 12
Theft: Someone called police to allege that a man, 46, had improperly attached a hose to a nearby fire hydrant and used the water to fill a swimming pool at his home in the 600 block of Northlawn Drive.
Theft: A man in the 200 block of Warner Road reported a $1,100 generator, a gas blower and a $170 push mower missing from his garage.
Theft: A man discovered 50 checks and an Ohio driver's license stolen from his apartment in the 3000 block of Green Acres Drive.
Theft, breaking and entering: An employee at New Life Christian Fellowship Church, 2088 Tibbetts-Wick Road, reported a storage garage had been broken into and a $7,000 tractor stolen.
Truck theft: A Niles man reported his 1988 Chevrolet 1500 pickup truck stolen from a driveway in the 2700 block of Tibbetts-Wick Road.
Assaults: Two women in the 40 block of James Lane alleged a Girard man, 22, assaulted them. One woman said he punched her in the head and face after she denied taking money from him; the other victim told police the man pushed her into a chair, causing her to hurt her leg.
Recovered property: Police recovered a 1998 Dodge Ram 4x4 in a wooded area in the 100 block of Warner Road. The vehicle had been stolen in New Castle, Pa.
Criminal damage: Someone threw rocks at a vehicle parked at Quality Auto Body, 11 Belgrade Ave., causing $700 in damage.
Criminal damage: An employee at America Coming Together noticed $600 in damage to a glass door.
Arrest: After his vehicle was stopped on a registration violation, police arrested a 20-year-old Youngstown man in the 600 block of Gypsy Lane. He was charged with felony possession of crack cocaine after police reported finding a bag containing suspected crack cocaine in his left sock, as well as two other bags of suspected crack cocaine in his vehicle. Other charges included a felony warrant charging him with receiving stolen property (auto), driving under suspension and failure to appear in court on a traffic violation.
June 13
Criminal damage: A man reported that someone destroyed a front window at his residence in the 1400 block of Tomilu Drive, possibly with a BB or a pellet. Damage was estimated at $600.
Unauthorized use of a vehicle: A man in the 5300 block of Lakeview Drive reported that two women in their mid-20s left in his 1997 Lincoln Town Car without permission.
June 14
Criminal damage: A man in the 4800 block of Logan Arms Drive discovered damage to his vehicle's windshield, rear window, four side windows and all four of its tires. Damage was estimated at $1,600.
Breaking and entering: A person watching a residence in the 1100 block of Townsend Avenue alleged a Brookfield woman took 20 DVDs and two sweatshirts, possibly from a bedroom.
June 15
Assault: A Hubbard man alleged his girlfriend, 26, struck him several times in the head during an argument at her residence in the 1900 block of Mount Everett Drive.
