XCANFIELD -- A reception at Stambaugh Auditorium in Youngstown honored Dr. Jason A. MacDonald of Stow and his bride, the former Kimberly Anne Sweed of Canfield, who exchanged marriage vows during a ceremony at 1:30 p.m. May 15 at St. Michael Church before the Rev. Terry Hazel.
The bride is a daughter of Elizabeth Ann Sweed of Canfield and Jerry L. Sweed of Boardman. The groom is a son of Janice O'Brien MacDonald of Fairfax, Va., and Lawrence R. MacDonald of Arlington, Va.
The couple honeymooned in Ireland and live in Cuyahoga Falls.
Mrs. MacDonald is a special-education teacher at the Mollie Kessler School in Youngstown. She has a bachelor's degree in speech pathology and audiology from West Virginia University.
The groom, an assistant professor at Kent State University, graduated from Boston University with a bachelor's degree in political science and from George Washington University with a doctorate in political science.
Honor attendant was Kerrie Anne Sweed, who wore a platinum-colored dress, as did the bridesmaids, Jennifer Lynn Rawden, Elaine MacDonald, Beth Taorminia Gordulic, Shannon Dascenzo Kosko, Holly Maginniss and Mary Shull Miller. Jessica Lynn Rawden was a participant.
Pierce Prior was best man. Groomsmen were Kristopher John Sweed, Eric Deki, James Dorell, Andrew Gallo, Doug Lindsay and Jon Miller. Ushers were Shawn Krause-Loner, Mark Montezemolo and Dan Orlow.
