CLASS B Astro Falcons end Wharmby winning streak



Dan Bertolini and Josh McKenney pitched Astro Falcons to victory.
STRUTHERS -- Astro Falcons used a five-run second inning Friday to knock off first-place Wharmby 5-4, ending its 14-game winning streak, in Class B League action at Cene Park.
Frank Turocy and Adam Wigley had RBI singles in the second inning for Astros (13-4). Turocy finished with two hits. Dan Bertolini pitched the first four innings for the win, while Josh McKenney pitched the final three innings for a save.
Andy Chrobak suffered the loss, his first in four decisions. Pat Oman hit a single and double for Wharmby (14-2). Billy Herman added three hits, while Lou Kopachy added two singles for the losers, who left 12 men on base.
Astro Falcons 12, Rondinelli Tuxedo 4
STRUTHERS -- John Morris (4-0) scattered six hits as Astro Falcons posted a victory over Rondinelli Tuxedo.
Dan Bertolini went 3-for-4 with a triple to spark Astros. Jared Bartholomew added three hits and Mike Pulakos hit a pair of singles.
Losing pitcher Scott Adams (3-1) allowed five hits and six runs in the first two innings. Phil Williamson and Kyle McCarthy each had two hits.
Rondinelli Tuxedo 6,Roth Brothers 5
Rondinelli scored two runs in the bottom of the sixth to come from behind and defeat Roth Brothers.
George Kovac had two hits and three RBIs to lead Rondinelli (8-9), while Williamson and Dan Babyak had two hits each. Babyak picked up the win as he pitched 5 2/3 innings of scoreless relief.
Jeff Claar and John Virostko had two hits apiece for Roth (2-14).
Youngstown Propane 5,Youngstown Express 3
Greg Sansone threw a four-hitter for Youngstown Propane (6-10).
Sansone (1-2) had 10 strikeouts and walked three. Craig Osborne had a triple and single, while Joe Marino had a double and Chris Norris added two RBIs for Propane.
Tom Williams (0-4) of Express (1-15) suffered the defeat in relief despite allowing no earned runs in five innings of work. Brian Banger hit a triple.
Koch Construction/Line Drive 2,Dave Sugar Excavating 1
Tom Enyeart (3-1) scattered seven hits, struck out five and walked one as he pitched a complete game to pick up the win.
Ryan Cameron and Travis Boyle had two hits each and Mike Eliseo a triple for the winners (12-4).
Mike Baharis (0-2) gave up only six hits in a losing cause for Sugar Excavating (4-12).
Livi Steel 6, Mink Financial 3
Jake Abbott and Justin Byler combined on a three hitter for Livi Steel (10-6).
Abbott (3-0) went the first five for the win, while Byler pitched the last two innings. Shawn Carr had three hits, including a double, to pace the winners.
