Youngstown Lions Club installs new officers



YOUNGSTOWN -- John R. Getchey was installed as president of the Downtown Youngstown Lions Club during a luncheon meeting June 10 at the Youngstown Club.
Serving with him will be Josie A. Polis, first vice president; Michele M. Ballone, second vice president; John L. Prest, third vice president; Diane Hardenbrook, treasurer; and Robert J. Iacobucci, secretary.
Seated as members of the board of directors were William G. Addington III, Parker T. McHenry, Bryan K. Reed, Peter J. Storey, Jerry M. Bryan, Patricia B. Rose, Anthony Vivo, Ronald Serich and Thomas W. Doctor.
Jeffrey A. Patterson is immediate past president.
Background
Getchey, a registered professional engineer, is executive director of Eastgate Regional Council of Governments. He also is a board member of the Ohio Association of Regional Councils and serves on the Goodwill advisory board.
The chapter was chartered Oct. 11, 1920. In 1922, the organization adopted saving sight as its community project at the urging of Helen Keller. Lions International accepted this project in 1925.
Meetings are held at noon Thursdays at the Youngstown Club. Guests are welcome.
