CINCINNATI Bush returns for fund-raiser

WASHINGTON (AP) -- President Bush is headed back to an affluent Cincinnati suburb next week for a $25,000-a-couple fund-raiser at the home of investor Bill DeWitt.
Ohio Republican Party Chairman Bob Bennett said the goal of the event is to raise $2 million for the Republican National Committee's Victory 2004 campaign.
Under campaign-finance laws, individuals can contribute a maximum of $2,000 per candidate and $25,000 to the national party.
This is Bush's second fund-raiser in the posh Indian Hill suburb this election cycle. It follows an event held last September at the estate of Carl Lindner III that raised $1.7 million.
Bush was last in the Cincinnati area for a campaign rally May 4 at Cincinnati Gardens, which capped a two-day bus tour through Michigan and Ohio.
"I love it when the president comes back to Ohio for any purpose anytime," Bennett said. "He fires up our grass-roots organization."
White House spokesman Jim Morrell declined to comment on the fund-raiser. He said the president's schedule would be released later in the week.
