MERCER COUNTY Mexican indicted on immigrant transportation

MERCER, Pa. -- A Mexican caught with 13 illegal Mexican immigrants in his vehicle on Interstate 80 in Mercer County May 11 has been indicted on a federal charge of transportation of illegal immigrants.
In a related matter, four illegal immigrants from Mexico have also been indicted on a charge of re-entry into the United States of a removed alien.
Jose Guadalupe Gurgua Ordonez, 33, was the driver of the vehicle. The indictment, handed down Tuesday in Pittsburgh, said Ordonez transported the aliens knowing they were in the country illegally.
The four others indicted were identified as Oralia Maldonado Cortes, 20; Abelina Maldonado Cortes, 25; Israel Vasquez Cortes, 30; and Joel Campuzano Bencis, 24, all of Mexico.
The indictments against them said they had been arrested and removed from the United States on April 19 and were back in western Pennsylvania on May 4 without having applied for readmission to the United States.
They were caught in a van driven by Eliseo Medina Dimas, a lawful resident of California, who was indicted June 8 on a charge of transportation of illegal aliens.
His van was also stopped on Interstate 80 in Mercer County last month.
All five defendants are being held in Allegheny County Jail.
They face up to 10 years in prison if convicted.
