CLASS B BASEBALL Youngstown Express captures first win of season



Mink Financial moved into a three-way tie for first place.
STRUTHERS -- Youngstown Express scored four times in the sixth inning to rally past Roth Brothers 8-7 in Class B action Tuesday at Cene Park.
It was Express' first win of the season.
Aaron Rudibaugh had two hits, while Tom Williams had a triple for the winners (1-13).
Steve Bowles picked up the win in relief as he went three innings, striking out three, to improve to 1-2.
Jeff Claar and Paul Kalmer had two hits, while Luke Summers (1-3) suffered the loss for Roth (2-12).
Mink Financial 5, Youngstown Express 4
Jeremy Hartman held off a rally by Express, and Mink moved into a three-way tie for second place at 10-4, with idle Astro Falcons and Koch Construction/Line Drive Academy.
Idle Wharmby Sports is the league leader at 13-1.
Hartman went the final five innings for the win to move to 2-0. He allowed one run, three hits and had 10 strikeouts.
Sean McBride had three hits, including a double, for the winners.
For Express, Brian Banger went the first 62/3 innings on the mound, allowing five hits. Tom Williams (0-3) suffered the defeat. Joe D'Amato had two hits for Express.
Dave Sugar Excavating 11, Roth Brothers 4
Ryan Cameron (2-1) struck out five and added a double and a single as Dave Sugar Excavating defeated Roth to improve to 4-10.
Chris Aracich added three hits, while Joel Imler, Pete Zock and Mike Sobnosky had two hits each for the winners. Melio Rios had four hits, including a triple, for Roth.
Luke Summers (1-4) suffered the defeat.
Youngstown Propane 10, Rondinelli Tuxedo 2
Brandon Wilds tossed a complete game four-hitter for Youngstown Propane as he won his first game of the year.
Wilds allowed one earned run, with five strikeouts and one walk. Craig Osborne had three hits, including a triple, a double and two RBIs, and Chris Norris added three singles for Propane (4-10). Aaron Brest added two hits.
For Rondinelli (7-7), Dan Babyak had a double.
Koch Construction/Line Drive 5,Rondinelli Tuxedo 4
Josh Susany pitched out of two bases-loaded jams in the sixth and seventh innings for Joe Koch Construction/Line Drive Academy (10-4).
Ryan McCallister pitched 42/3 innings to get the win, his third of the season, while Susany picked up his second save.
Three of the four runs allowed by McCallister were unearned. Aaron Boris and Mark Delisio had two hits each, and Matt Madrid a double for the winners.
Rondinelli's Reid Lamport suffered the loss to fall to 1-2, despite allowing no earned runs. Lamport struck out five, while Kyle McCarthy and Phil Williamson had two hits each for Rondinelli, which left nine men on base, six in the last two innings.
