The health board handled these matters Monday:
Approved a "No Weapons" policies for vendors and the general public visiting the health department and for its employees during regular working hours and special department events.Accepted the retirements of Sandra Modarelli, a registered nurse with 10 years of service, effective June 30; and Robert Ramhoff, director of air pollution, with 32 years of service, effective July 30.Accepted a $20,000 grant from the Centers for Disease Control to be used to buy supplies for the department's homeless program.Voted to seek bids for the 2005 mosquito control program when the time comes.Sought, in a letter from Health Commissioner Neil H. Altman to Mayor George McKelvey and Finance Director David Bozanich, a discussion of funding to complete transferring vital statistics from paper to CDs or microfilm. Altman said about 200,000 records have been put on CDs and microfilm, and there are about 800,000 remaining still on paper.
