Sign-ups begin for youth day camp

YOUNGSTOWN -- The city park and recreation department's summer day camp starts Wednesday and runs through Aug. 19.
Youths can sign up at the Mahoning Youngstown Community Action Partnership office at 101 Federal Street, Suite 200 East. Call MYCAP at (330) 747-7921 for more information. There won't be any registration at the day camp sites.
The day camps will be from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday at 11 city-staffed parks or playgrounds: Wick, MVSD, Lynn, Hillman, Lincoln, Crandall, Sheridan, Homestead, John White, Fosterville and Wick-Saranac.
The free day camp will include activities such as basketball, baseball, soccer, football, swimming, volleyball, track and field, golf and tennis lessons, talent show, arts and crafts and an end-of-season picnic.
Field trips will include the Skate Zone, Chuck E. Cheese, the Arms Museum, Sports World, the Butler Institute of American Art and the Ford Nature Center.
