LONG BEACH, Calif. -- Nick Hundley's sacrifice fly in the bottom of the 11th inning gave Arizona a 4-3 victory in an NCAA super regional Sunday over Long Beach State, and sent the Wildcats to the College World Series for the first time in 18 years.
Moises Duran reached and took second on a throwing error by third baseman Danny Mocny. He went to third on a wild pitch by Neil Jamison (3-5) before scoring on Hundley's fly to center.
Long Beach (40-21) rallied to tie it at 3 on Sean Boatright's run-scoring single off John Meloan with one out in the ninth. Meloan pitched 81/3 innings, giving up three runs on nine hits. Mark Melancon (6-4) pitched 22/3 innings of one-hit relief.
Jeff Van Houten's two-run single off Long Beach reliever Brian Anderson put Arizona (35-25-1) ahead 3-2 in the seventh.
Anderson replaced left-hander Jason Vargas, who gave up three runs on seven hits in 62/3 innings.
Arizona coach Andy Lopez will take his third team to Omaha. He previously coached Florida and Pepperdine to series appearances, winning the 1992 championship with the Waves. He is one of only eight Division I coaches to take two different schools to Omaha.
Fullerton 10, Tulane 7
FULLERTON, Calif. -- Kurt Suzuki homered and drove in two runs to help Cal State Fullerton advance to the College World Series.
Ricky Romero (12-4) pitched 82/3 innings, giving up two runs in the ninth before yielding to Vinnie Pestano, who got his first save of the season.
J.R. Crowel (8-3) allowed six runs, but just three were earned, as Tulane (41-21) committed four errors.
South Carolina 5, East Carolina 3
COLUMBIA, S.C. -- Steven Tolleson hit a two-run, go-ahead double in the eighth to lead South Carolina to its third straight trip to the College World Series.
The Gamecocks (50-15) have won 10 straight games and 18 of their last 20.
Miami 3, Florida 1
CORAL GABLES, Fla. -- Cesar Carrillo pitched a four-hitter to give Miami its 21st trip to the College World Series.
It will be the third trip to Omaha in the last four years for Miami (50-11).
Carrillo (11-0) surrendered his only run in the first inning on Ben Harrison's RBI single.
Florida starter Connor Falkenbach (10-7) cruised until giving up a two-run homer to Richard Giannotti in the fifth that gave Miami a 2-1 lead.
LSU 4, Texas A & amp;M 0
BATON ROUGE, La. -- Will Harris hit a three-run homer in the top of the ninth to send LSU to its second straight College World Series. LSU (46-17) will make its 13th overall World Series appearance after sweeping the Aggies in the super regional.
Harris' home run broke open a pitchers' duel between A & amp;M starter Zach Jackson and LSU's Lane Mestepey.
Jackson (10-7) did not give up a hit over the first five innings and had only allowed two hits going into the ninth inning.
Mestepey (7-3) pitched a five-hitter for LSU, which has won five College World Series titles.
