SEARCH WARRANTS Youngstown police raid 3 homes, arrest 4 people on drug charges



The raids occurred within a three-hour time period.

YOUNGSTOWN -- Four city residents face drug trafficking and drug paraphernalia charges after city police raided three homes.
The four are being held in the Mahoning County Jail pending arraignments in Youngstown Municipal Court. Police obtained warrants to search the homes Friday from municipal Judge Elizabeth A. Kobly.
Police said they found 10 bags of suspected crack cocaine, a bag of suspected marijuana and a used crack pipe during the raid on West Marion Avenue.
Charged with trafficking in drugs, possession of drugs and illegal use or possession of drug paraphernalia was Roderick Gray, 37, of West Earle Avenue, found in the home during the raid.
Police charged Letwan Cherry, 24, of Halleck Street, with trafficking in drugs and illegal use or possession of drug paraphernalia, after a raid at an Otis Street apartment. Police said they found 17 bags of suspected heroin, a bag of suspected marijuana and a scale in a bathroom with Cherry. A small amount of suspected crack cocaine and suspected marijuana, as well as seven blue pills, which officers couldn't immediately identify, and two scales were found in the home, police said.
A third raid at the North Center Street home of Ivan Cruz, 23, led to his arrest and the arrest of Antonio Gibbs, 19, of Kendis Circle, on charges of trafficking in marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. Police said they found 221 bags of suspected marijuana and a scale in the home.
