Conkles' 50th to be observed at open house



XSALEM -- Mr. and Mrs. Richard Conkle of Salem will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary during an open house reception to be held from 2 to 5 p.m. June 27 at Greenford Lutheran Church.
The couple requests that gifts be omitted.
Hosts for the event will be the couple's daughters and their families, Robert and Terri Dance of Salem, Tim and Nancy Sanders of Columbiana, and their three grandchildren.
The former Dorothy Reed and Mr. Conkle were united in marriage June 27, 1954, at Greenford Lutheran Church where they are members. They are also members of Canfield AARP.
Mrs. Conkle was a teacher in Salem City Schools prior to retiring in 1995.
Mr. Conkle served with the U.S. Army during World War II. He retired in 1990 from Electric Furnace where he was manufacturing manager. He is a 32nd degree Mason and a member of the Shriners, and also a member of the Tri-State Antique Auto Club.
