East Side house fire
YOUNGSTOWN -- A fire at an East Side house caused $15,000 in damage.
Battalion Chief Robert A. Hian said Richard Bussey, who lives at 1559 Victor Ave. with his sister, Colisha, left the stove on, causing the fire. Bussey attempted to put out the fire, failed to do so, left the home, returned and unsuccessfully tried again to extinguish the blaze, Hian said. After he failed a second time, Bussey left the home and never reported the fire, Hian said.
A neighbor called the fire department about 6:45 p.m. Friday after seeing smoke coming from the Bussey home, Hian said.
