WARREN -- Painting, puppetry, poetry, music, dance and creative writing will be explored during Richard Novak Summerfest classes for children at Trumbull Art Gallery, 196 E. Market St. Sessions are scheduled at various times from June 21 to July 10. Seven instructors will lead one-day and multiday workshops for children ages 5-8, ages 8 and older and families. The series is named after a late Warren businessman and patron of Trumbull Art Gallery. Class fees range from $5 to $32. Call (330) 856-4876 for details.
Acting classes for kids
LISBON -- Stage Left Youth Players of Lisbon will hold summer acting classes and workshops for pupils at the Outreach Center, 234 E. Lincoln Way. "Back to Basics" will be June 14, 21 and 28 and "Musical Theatre Mania" will be June 15, 22 and 29. Sessions for both will be from 9:30-10:30 a.m. for third- through sixth-graders; 10:45-11:45 a.m. for seventh and eighth grades; and noon-1 p.m. for ninth- through 12 grades. Cost is $30 for each. "Extreme Acting" will be from 5-6:30 p.m. June 13, 20 and 27 for ninth- through 12th-graders at a cost of $45. An audition workshop is planned from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. June 26 for seventh through 12th grades at a cost of $45. Call (330) 424-5093.
'On the Record' auditions
CLEVELAND -- Disney Theatrical Productions will hold auditions at 9:30 a.m. June 19 in Playhouse Square Center for the musical "On the Record," which will make its debut here. "On the Record" features more than 50 songs from Disney's animated movies and Broadway shows, from "Peter Pan" to "Aladdin."
