Struthers City Council unanimously approved these pieces of legislation at its Wednesday night meeting:
A resolution authorizing the mayor to file an application for an Ohio Environmental Education Fund grant with the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency.
An ordinance authorizing the safety-service director to advertise for bids and the board of control to enter into a contract with the lowest and best bidder for the Beechwood stormwater management project.
An ordinance authorizing the safety-service director to advertise for bids and the board of control to enter into a contract with the lowest and best bidder for resurfacing Fourth and Wilhelm streets and the downtown sidewalk program.
A resolution authorizing the mayor to submit a grant application for a fiscal year 2004 Community Development Block Grant.
An ordinance appropriating $2,100 to Bob Cene Park for an outfield sign for the city for two years.
A resolution congratulating the 2004 varsity boys' track coach Mark Carden and the sprint relay team, which placed first in the 4x100 meter relay and second in the 4x200 meter relay Division II Ohio High School Track and Field Championships. Relay team members are Eric Anderson, Larry Wylie, Justin Penson and Ty Campana.
