MTV to edit out of showEminem's moon shot
LOS ANGELES -- Eminem's moon has been eclipsed.
MTV plans to edit out a shot of the rapper exposing his rear end to the audience at the 2004 Movie Awards when the show is broadcast Thursday at 9 p.m. EDT, a network representative confirmed Monday.
Eminem, who performed at the Saturday night taping with his group D12, appeared onstage dressed in a long, red wig and jeans in a parody of Guns N' Roses singer Axl Rose.
He repeatedly groped and flashed a studded codpiece in front of the cameras and the thousands of people in the live audience. Toward the end of the performance, he pulled down his trousers and flashed his bare backside at the audience.
Representatives for MTV immediately said Saturday night that Eminem's act would be sanitized for broadcast by editing around the stunt.
Eminem's representatives declined to immediately comment.
Eminem also dropped his trousers earlier this year during a performance in Germany, but ever since Janet Jackson's Super Bowl stunt, broadcasters have tried to keep everyone's clothes on -- at least while they're on camera.
Streisand's shirt fetches$24,000 at auction
LOS ANGELES -- You know you're popular when a fan pays $24,000 for a satin shirt you wore once.
Ah, to be Barbra -- Streisand, that is -- and have collectors and fans bid for bits of this and that from your legendary life.
Though the shirt she wore on the "Judy Garland Show" in 1963 sold for the aforementioned price, Barbra's vintage compact, missing its mirror, went for a mere $600. No word on prices fetched for her dresses by Dior, Cecil Beaton and Donna Karan.
More than 420 items valued at an estimated $600,000 were up for auction Saturday at the Pacific Design Center in West Hollywood to benefit the Streisand Foundation, which promotes civil liberties, democratic values and women's issues.
