The azure-faced performance art collective known logically as the Blue Man Group is getting ready to reach new audiences in their first regular TV gig. The ensemble will contribute the score to Fox's summer drama "The Jury."
Created by Tom Fontana and Barry Levinson, "The Jury" follows a single criminal case every week, and each week the Blue Man Group will compose a score that fits the emotional tone of the series.
"Composing for television and film is something we've always wanted to do, and to work with Barry and Tom our first time out is a true honor," says Chris Wink, one of Blue Man Group's founders. "Scoring each episode is an incredible creative challenge, and we hope this opens up many future collaborative opportunities."
The Group's multi-instrumental musical stylings led to a Grammy nomination for their first album, 1999's "AUDIO."
Their shows, which combine theater, percussive music, art, science and vaudeville, play in cities around the country.
"The Jury" premieres with back-to-back episodes at 8 p.m. Tuesday.
