Ledee leads Phillies over Braves
Brett Myers gave up six hits in seven innings.

ATLANTA -- Good things happen when Brett Myers pitches seven innings.
Ricky Ledee drove in three runs and Myers overcame a rough first inning to win for the first time in three starts, leading the Philadelphia Phillies over the Atlanta Braves 5-3 Saturday.
"Any time a pitcher can get runs early, it's good," Myers said. "After that, I try to go out and relax."
The Braves, losing two straight for the first time in 17 games, fell to 27-28, their worst record this late in the season since having an identical record on June 6, 1992.
After allowing two runs and three hits in the first, Myers (4-3) gave up just three more hits in his seven innings. He walked four and struck out five.
When pitching at least seven innings, Myers has won seven straight starts and is now 10-3 in his career.
"I was throwing sinkers away and curveballs -- anything that will get a groundball," Myers said. "I learned a lot about myself. The last three starts, I've found my rhythm and kept my body under control."
Tim Worrell struck out the side in the ninth for his eighth save.
Ledee started for just the third time since May 16, when he had three RBIs at Colorado. The Phillies took a 4-0 lead in the first on Ledee's two-run single, and RBI singles by Chase Utley and Todd Pratt.
Ledee, playing left field to give Pat Burrell a day off, added an RBI single for a 5-2 lead in the second.
Once Myers settled down, Ledee knew the right-hander would make the most of his run support.

Reds 6, Expos 3, 10 innings
CINCINNATI -- Ken Griffey Jr. hit his 496th homer and Adam Dunn had two of his own, including a three-run shot in the 10th inning that gave the Cincinnati Reds a victory over the Montreal Expos.
Griffey hit his 496th homer in the fourth and Dunn followed with a solo shot, putting right-hander Paul Wilson in position to improve to 8-0. But closer Danny Graves let the Expos tie it in the ninth with their first set of back-to-back homers this season.
Dunn, in an all-or-nothing surge, tossed his bat away triumphantly after connecting for his 17th homer off Chad Cordero (1-1) with two outs in the 10th.

Marlins 7, Mets 6
NEW YORK -- Pinch-hitter Damion Easley hit a tying three-run homer in the seventh inning, and Alex Gonzalez had a two-out, RBI single in the eighth to give the Florida Marlins a win over the New York Mets.
The Mets had rallied from a 2-0 deficit, tying the score on Mike Piazza's first of two homers in the fifth, and going ahead with three runs in the bottom of the sixth.
But Florida came right back against reliever Ricky Bottalico in the seventh. With one-out, Gonzalez beat out an infield hit and reached second on a throwing error by third baseman Todd Zeile. Matt Treanor singled Gonzalez to third, and Lenny Harris was sent up to pinch hit. The Mets countered by bringing in left-hander Mike Stanton, and Easley batted for Harris and hit his second homer of the season to tie it at 5.

Cardinals 10, Astros 4
ST. LOUIS -- Jim Edmonds overcame a sore right ribcage and drove in four runs and threw out a runner at the plate, leading the St. Louis Cardinals to victory over the Houston Astros.
Edmonds almost didn't start after straining his ribcage muscle during batting practice the previous night, but chose to play -- helping the Cardinals win their sixth in a row.
Albert Pujols went 4-for-5, and the Cardinals had a season-high 19 hits to move nine games over .500. and remain a game behind NL Central-leading Cincinnati.
Lance Berkman drove in four runs on two hits for the Astros, who have lost seven of their last eight against St. Louis.

Rockies 11, Giants 2
DENVER -- The Colorado Rockies kept Barry Bonds from hurting them this time -- by giving the slugger only two hittable pitches.
Todd Greene and Royce Clayton each hit two-run homers, and Jason Jennings pitched five-plus strong innings in the Rockies' victory over the San Francisco Giants.
Bonds walked three times, twice intentionally, but doubled off the wall in right-center in the seventh against Tim Harikkala. He still finished 1-for-1 to raise his average at Coors Field to .328.
On Friday, Bonds hit his 15th homer and No. 673 of his career when Jeff Fassero pitched to him after manager Clint Hurdle instructed him not to do so. Hurdle said before Saturday's game Fassero's ego probably got involved in the decision.
