Austin Regional
AUSTIN, Texas -- Matt VanDerBosch scored two runs and drove in another, leading the Oral Roberts baseball team to a 6-5 victory over TCU in the Austin Regional. Dennis Bigley pitched six innings, giving up two runs to earn the win for the Golden Eagles (49-9), who will play No. 1 seed Texas. TCU led 2-0 after the first but Oral Roberts answered with four runs over the next two innings. Jeff Tuttle hit a solo home run in the second and VanDerBosch, who had three of Oral Roberts' 15 hits, led off the third with a double and scored on Brian Hansen's single.
Houston Regional
HOUSTON -- Herman Coachmen hit a three-run homer in the eighth inning and Brandon Stricklen worked out of a bases-loaded jam in the bottom of the ninth to lead Texas Southern past defending national champion Rice 4-3. Rice starter Phil Humber (13-3) coasted through the first 7 1/3 innings, striking out 11 and allowing only one earned run while the Owls held a 3-1 lead. Andre Nevels led off the eighth with a walk and Mario Deleon then lined an infield single off the glove of Owls' first baseman Matt Euckert before Coachmen homered. The Owls (43-13) tried to regroup in the bottom half when Josh Rodriguez led off with a single and was moved to third by a sacrifice bunt and a fly to left field, but Corey Alexander ended the inning with a diving catch over the bullpen fence in foul territory.
Stanford Regional
STANFORD, Calif. -- Sean Boatright's RBI single in the bottom of the ninth lifted Long Beach State over St. John's, 4-3. Boatright had two hits for the 49ers (37-19) to snap a seven-game losing streak.
Fullerton Regional
FULLERTON, Calif. -- Pepperdine scored 12 runs over the final three innings to break open a close game and beat Arizona State, 15-5. Nick Kliebert's two-out, two-run double highlighted a five-run seventh inning for the Waves (29-30), who also scored twice after shortstop Dustin Pedroia committed a costly throwing error for the Sun Devils (40-17).
Atlanta Regional
ATLANTA -- Josh Brady had a homer among his four hits and drove in four runs to lead Texas Tech past Mississippi State, 10-6. Jose Delgado added two hits and two RBIs to back Dallas Braden (6-4), who went 8 2/3 innings. allowing six runs on 13 hits. In Georgia Tech's 16-3 win over Jacksonville State, Eric Patterson, Clifton Remole and Whit Robbins all homered.
Baton Rouge Regional
BATON ROUGE, La. -- Justin Meier struck out nine and pitched a complete game to lead top seed LSU past Army, 9-0. Meier (6-2), who has allowed more than four earned runs in just one of his 15 starts, went the distance for first time this year. In Southern Mississippi's 6-5 win over College of Charleston, Jarrett Hoffpauir hit a tying, two-run double and Ryan Frith scored the go-ahead run on a wild pitch.
Coral Gables Regional
CORAL GABLES, Fla. -- Dustin Knight's two-out RBI single capped a three-run ninth and gave North Carolina State a win over Florida Atlantic, 6-5.
Tallahassee Regional
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. -- Eddie Cannon (9-6) threw a five-hitter and struck out nine as Florida State cruised past Bethune-Cookman, 10-3. In Central Florida's 7-3 win over Big 12 champion Oklahoma State, Kevin Richmond drove in four runs on three hits, including a two-run homer.
Fayetteville Regional
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. -- Mike Pelfrey struck out 14 and came up one out short of a complete game in Wichita State's 3-0 over Missouri. Pelfrey (11-2) threw eight and two-thirds innings, allowing only four hits and three walks as he put the Shockers (47-14) in the winners' bracket. In Arkansas' 4-1 win over Le Moyne, Haas Pratt went 4-for-4, including his seventh home run of the year.
Columbia Regional
COLUMBIA, S.C. -- Sammy Hewitt's single through the left-field gap in the bottom of the ninth gave North Carolina a 6-5 win over Coastal Carolina. North Carolina (42-19) trailed 5-1 after four innings but opened the ninth with a single by Greg Magnum. He stole second and scored the tying run on Mike Daniel's roller just past the glove of shortstop Brett Grandstrand. Aaron Rawl tied a season high with eight strikeouts and three South Carolina players homered to lead the Gamecocks (46-15) past The Citadel, 12-4. Rawl (12-4) went seven innings, allowing two earned runs. He was backed by homers from Steve Pearce, Ryan Mahoney and Mark Stanley.
Oxford Regional
OXFORD, Miss. -- Grady Hinchman threw a two-hitter to lead fourth-seeded Western Kentucky to a 1-0 upset of the top seed and host Rebels. Hinchman (7-5) took a no-hitter into the sixth inning, allowed only one runner to advance past second base and finished with six strikeouts for Western Kentucky (35-26). Brian Bogusevic pitched 8 2-3 solid innings to lead Tulane past Washington, 3-2.
Charlottesville Regional
CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. -- Cesar Nicolas homered and drove in three runs to lead Vanderbilt to its first NCAA tournament win since 1974, 7-3 over George Mason. Vanderbilt (43-17) capitalized on a three-error fifth inning to score four runs and take a 7-1 lead. The game between Princeton and Virginia was postponed because of rain.
Oklahoma City Regional
OKLAHOMA CITY -- Jeff Corsaletti drove in six runs and Justin Hoyman allowed one run over eight innings to lead Florida past Central Connecticut. 12-1. Lewis Pappariella (7-3) gave up nine runs on eight hits in seven innings for Central Connecticut (41-16-1).
Athens Regional
ATHENS, Ga. -- Marshall Szabo, Bobby Felmy and Kyle Keen homered to spark Georgia's 16-2 rout of Middle Tennessee State. Five pitchers combined on a four-hitter for the Bulldogs (39-20). After scoring just one run in the previous 32 innings, Georgia scored nine in the second inning alone. Middle Tennessee (40-21) starter Chris Mobley pitched a wild 1 1-3 innings. Travis Storrer drove in three runs with a home run and a double and Clemson defeated Birmingham-Southern, 10-6. Lou Santangelo doubled twice to drive in three runs and Brad McCann also homered for Clemson (37-24).
Kinston Regional
KINSTON, N.C. -- Both games were postponed by rain and were rescheduled for Saturday. Tennessee will play North Carolina-Wilmington at 3 p.m. and East Carolina will face Stony Brook at 7 p.m. on Saturday. Saturday's games will be played Sunday, and Sunday's will be played Monday. The times have not been determined.
