McCoy, Alfreno, Dillon help Wharmby to defeat Youngstown Express, 8-2



Kevin Sikora tossed a three-hit shutout as Line Drive defeated Livi Steel.
STRUTHERS -- J.C. McCoy, Jessie Alfreno and Cody Dillon had two hits each Saturday as Wharmby Sports defeated Youngstown Express 8-2 in Class B League baseball action at Cene Park.
Joe Onufrak (2-1) earned the pitching victory by tossing 51/3 innings. He allowed only one earned run and had four strikeouts.
For the Express (0-7), Marc Gibbs doubled while Mike Shane suffered the loss in relief even though two of the six runs he allowed were earned.
Line Drive 10, Livi Steel 0
Kevin Sikora threw a three-hit shutout for Line Drive (5-2), striking out seven and walking none.
Sikora also had three hits and drove in two runs.
Mike Eliseo added two hits as did Adam Boris. Adam and Aaron Boris both tripled while Matt Madrid doubled.
For Livi Steel (4-4) Tim Novotny doubled while Shawn Carr (1-1) took the loss.
Sugar Excavating 5, Youngstown Propane 4
Dan Deluca hit a one-out triple and scored on an error in the bottom of the seventh inning to lift Dave Sugar Excavating over Youngstown Propane.
Deluca's four hits included a double for Sugar (3-4).
Travis Boyle went the distance for his second win of the season. He had seven strikeouts and walked two.
For Propane (2-6), Ben Detwiler had three hits while Dave Baco and Derek Baker added a single and a double apiece. Dan Valentine suffered the loss in relief, his second defeat in three decisions.
Mink 5, Rondinelli 2
Sean McBride had three hits for Mink (6-2). Ryan Myers picked up his second win of the year as he went five plus innings. He struck out four. Mike Swoboda picked up the save.
For Rondinelli (4-3), Cliff Panezich went the distance and took the loss. He had six strikeouts and only two of the runs he allowed were earned. Tom Clayton had two hits as did Dan Babyak. Andy Wilmouth tripled.
Astro Falcons 14, Roth Brothers 1
Bill Christian, Adam Wigley, and Robert Shannon had three hits for first-place for the Falcons (7-1).
Chad Baker struck out seven in his four innings on the mound.
John Virostko had the only hit for Roth (0-7).
