XDowntown Youngstown Kiwanis Club will meet at noon Friday at the YMCA.
XTrumbull County Farm Bureau Council members will meet at 8 p.m. Friday for a strawberry festival at Cortland High School.
XYoungstown After 5 will hold a dinner and meeting at 6:30 p.m. June 14 at the Lockwood House, 7095 Lockwood Blvd., Boardman. Alice Sems will speak on "What's in Your Garden." A special feature will be presented by Phil Steiner of Mellinger's Nursery, and Dona Hewitt will present the music. The cost is $10. GUILDS
XHolborn Herb Growers Guild will take a trip to "Treasures of the Earth," 7118 Melody Road, N.E., Kensington, June 22. RELIGIOUS GROUPS
XThe Diocesan Infant Jesus of Prague Guild will attend the rosary at 9:30 a.m. followed by a Mass of thanksgiving at 10 commemorating the 57th anniversary of the Diocesan Guild on June 16. SOCIETIES
XMahoning County Chapter of the Ohio Genealogical Society will hold its 32nd anniversary dinner at 6 p.m. June 21 at Poland Public Library, 311 S. Main St., Poland. Reservations are due by June 14. The cost is $10 for nonmembers and guests. Mail checks payable to the chapter to June Dinner, P.O. Box 9333, Youngstown, Ohio 44513-9333. The speaker will be John Newhart, a World War II buff, who will be dressed in combat gear and explain the equipment.
XThe reservation deadline for the Mercer County Historical Society's annual dinner meeting is Friday. Cost is $10 per person and must be paid in advance. The meeting will be at the pavilion on Sandy Lake, Stoneboro, Pa. Seating is limited. A presentation about the history, geography, native Americans and slaves that once inhabited the area will follow election of officers and the dinner.
