After a lot of anticipation on TV, the 60th anniversary of the D-Day invasion is finally here. The special "D-Day: Reflections of Courage" (8 p.m., Discovery Channel) uses the stories of survivors from the United States, Britain, France and Germany to recount the D-Day events "hour by hour." About 2,400 Allied troops were killed in the first day of the assault on five Normandy beaches.
Naomi Judd and daughters Wynonna and Ashley rank as one of the most successful families in show business. But they've known hard times, too, and "The True Hollywood Story" (8 p.m. on E!) is sure to dwell on the problems that have been fodder for the tabloids.
As if we don't have enough to worry about already, now comes "Meltdown" (8 p.m., FX), a made-for-cable movie about a nuclear facility that has been targeted by terrorists. Bruce Greenwood, Leslie Hope and James Remar star.
The frank and funny British "Coupling" (which is nothing like NBC's disappointing and short-lived U.S. clone) is back for its fourth season (9 p.m., BBC America). A baby's on its way for Susan and Steve, and Patrick and Sally are fumbling their way into a relationship.
A murder case launches the third season of "The Dead Zone" (10 p.m., USA), the original series that's based on characters from the Stephen King novel. Anthony Michael Hall stars as a man who emerged from a coma with psychic abilities, such as seeing the future. The 13 new episodes continue a story line about an impending apocalypse, with the destruction of the nation's capital.
