Astro Falcons shut out Propane
Line Drive knocked Mink out of a first-place tie.
STRUTHERS -- The Astro Falcons won their sixth game of the Class B season Friday with a 10-0 decision over Youngstown Propane at Cene Park.
John Morris (2-0) struck out nine with one walk for the Falcons (6-1).
Chad Baker hit a three-run home run in the first inning, while Bill Christian, Jared Bartholomew and Josh McKenney had two hits, and Brandon Skoff a double for the winners.
Dave Baco and Ryan Hamilton had hits for Propane (2-5).
Rondinelli 12, Dave Sugar 5
Six Rondinelli players had two or more hits as the team improved to 4-2.
Doug Brown and Kyle McCarthy had three hits each while Phil Williamson, Tom Clayton, George Kovac and Dan Babyak had two hits each.
Scott Adams (2-0) picked up the win, going the first six-plus innings. He struck out nine.
Pete Zock and Jack Mulichak had doubles for Dave Sugar (2-4). Craig Hritz allowed just one unearned run for Sugar.
Livi 10, Express 6
A five-run fourth inning gave Livi the comeback win over Youngstown Express (0-6).
Tim Novotny and Justin Byler had a pair of doubles each while Steve Orlosky had a single and a double and Rick Banna two hits for Livi (4-3).
Brad Blevins (1-1) got the win in relief.
Tom Williams, Joe Detko and Steve Pinciaro had two hits for the Express. Pinciaro doubled.
Line Drive 4, Mink Financial 2
Line Drive (4-2) knocked Mink out of the first-place tie with Falcons.
Luke Kershner (2-0) and Josh Susany combined on a one-hitter, while Matt Madrid and Aaron Boris had two hits each.
Kershner had four strikeouts and as many walks in his five innings of work, while Susany worked two perfect innings for his first save on the year.
Chris Pechalk (0-2) suffered the loss for Mink (5-2). Only two of the four runs he allowed were earned as he struck out five and walked four. Jeremy Wormer had a double for the only hit for Mink.
Wharmby 5, Roth Brothers 1
Andy Chrobak struck out nine in winning his second game of the year for Wharmby (5-1).
Pat Oman had two hits while Billy Herman had a two-run scoring triple in the third inning for the winners.
For Roth (0-6), Luke Summer pitched the complete game. He had four strikeouts and allowed four earned runs.
