2 men get prison terms for theft-related crimes
Others were sentenced for assault or various forms of theft, such as shoplifting.
MERCER, Pa. -- Two men were sentenced to state prison by Mercer County Common Pleas Court.
Kevin Baritell, 36, of Niles Road, Warren, was sentenced last week by Judge Thomas Dobson to 16 months to six years in the state penitentiary for misdemeanor theft of lease property.
According to court documents, on April 8, 2003, Baritell rented a wet tile-brick saw and a concrete saw from Oakes and McClelland Rental Center, 40 Conneaut Lake Road, Greenville. He then sold the saws, valued at a total $1,592, to a pawn shop.
Joshua Grove, 31, formerly of Sandy Lake, who is already serving a term in the State Correctional Facility at Camp Hill, was sentenced by Judge Francis Fornelli to an additional one to five years for felony burglary, the term to run after his current one.
According to court documents, Grove was found in possession of tools, walkie-talkies, televisions and other stolen items May 4, 2003, near his residence on Sandy Lake-New Lebanon Road, Sandy Lake Township. The goods had been stolen in burglaries at J.C. Moore Industries, Mountain Bay and Stan Hepler Roofing. No addresses were given for the businesses.

UJon Bone, 25, of Orangeville Road, Greenville, six to 23 months in Mercer County Jail for misdemeanor assault for punching a woman in the face at a South High Street, Greenville, residence Feb. 6, causing bruises and cuts, and threatening to kill her. After completion of his term, he will be monitored for alcohol use.
UChanning Harris, 40, address given as the Lawrence County Jail, concurrent six-month-to-one-year terms for felony criminal trespass and theft by unlawful taking, a misdemeanor for taking $850 from an Oneida Lane, South Pymatuning Township, residence Oct. 16, 2003, and breaking into buildings on South Oakland Avenue and on Prindle Street, Sharon, the next day.
UJamal Hupko, 28, Ellwood Road, New Castle, suspended sentence and two years' probation for criminal conspiracy/retail theft for conspiring with two other people to steal clothing valued at $330 from Pro Image and Nike Factory Outlet at Prime Outlets, state Route 208, Springfield Township, on Oct. 4.
UDameco Jackson, 31, Wallis Avenue, Farrell, one to three years in jail for felony retail theft for taking miscellaneous health and beauty items worth $82 from Family Dollar Store, 100 S. Water Ave., Sharon, on May 18, 2003.
UJaime Killin, 27, state Route 198, Vienna, four years' probation for misdemeanor retail theft for taking clothing from Kaufman's, 3515 E. State St., Hermitage, on Sept. 24, 2003.
UArthur Norris, 31, of Baldwin Avenue, Sharon, given probation after his two-to-five-year term was suspended, for felony burglary for stealing a Sony Playstation 2 video game console, eight video games and five DVDs from locations on Stateline Road, Sharon, and Walnut Street, Sharpsville, on Sept. 19, 2003.
