League schedules benefit golf classic

HOWLAND -- The Warren Junior Women's League will sponsor a "Golf Classic Gone Casual" Saturday at Avalon South Golf Course.
The event will begin with a complimentary breakfast and registration at 7:30 a.m. followed by a shotgun start for the four-person scramble format at 8:30. Lunch will take place at the turn, and a steak dinner will conclude the event at approximately 4 p.m. Beverages also will be provided along the course.
Cost for the 18-hole game is $50 per person, and there will be a limit of 147 golfers. Proceeds will benefit the Trumbull County Children's Services Board.
A variety of prizes will be available, including a Jaguar for the first hole-in-one on hole no. 14. A skins game and 50-50 raffle also will be held along with door prizes.
Sponsorships are available until Thursday on several levels. Hole and cart sponsors are $100 each, and door prize or cash donations are also welcome.
