CLASS B LEAGUE Cameron pitches Sugar to 3-2 win over Express
Ryan Cameron threw a five-hitter and picked off three runners at first base.
STRUTHERS -- Left-hander Ryan Cameron tossed a five-hitter to lead Dave Sugar Excavating to a 3-2 victory over Youngstown Express, in a Class B League game Sunday night at Cene Park.
Cameron had five strikeouts and also picked off three runners at first base as Sugar evened its record at 2-2.
A two-run fifth inning in which Sugar managed two runs on just one hit was the difference. One run scored on a bases-loaded walk to Pete Zock and the other on a wild pitch.
Steve Bowles suffered the loss for the Express (0-4), which got two hits and two RBIs from Tom Williams.
Wharmby's Sports 6,Line Drive Academy 4
Wharmby's (3-1) scored three runs on one hit in the first inning, and added three more runs in the fourth to give Line Drive (2-2) their second straight loss.
Four walks, including two with the bases loaded, helped the rally, while a 2-run double by Jesse Alfreno keyed a three-run fourth.
Billy Herman added a double for Wharmby's, while Joe Onufrak (1-1) picked up the victory in relief. Onufrak pitched four innings, allowing two hits and one run, with three strikeouts.
Mink Financial 6,Youngstown Propane 1
Ryan Myers (1-0) threw a complete-game six-hitter.
Myers struck out nine and did not walk a batter. Sean McBride had two hits while Kevin Lee drove in two runs with a double.
Jake Zatchock took the loss for Propane. He went the first five innings allowing seven hits, with seven strikeouts and four walks. Justin Herberger had two singles for Propane.
All the Class B games scheduled for Monday were rained out. They were rescheduled for tonight at Cene Park.
