Rock Hall honors Valley native Bators
CLEVELAND -- The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum will honor a Youngstown-born rock singer next month. A tribute to Stiv Bators of punk rock band The Dead Boys will be at 3 p.m. Sept. 18 in the museum's fourth-floor theater. The occasion will bring together surviving Dead Boys members Johnny Blitz, Cheetah Chrome, Jeff Magnum and Jimmy Zero for the first time in 17 years. They will participate in a question-and-answer session, and video of Dead Boys performances at CBGB in New York will be shown.
The rock hall event is in conjunction with a tribute concert, also on Sept. 18, at Beachland Ballroom, 15711 Waterloo Road. Admission to the rock hall event is $5 for those who also purchase tickets to the Beachland Ballroom concert by Sept. 17. Call (216) 383-1124 for details.
Bators also was lead singer of the bands Lords of the New Church and The Wanderers. He appeared in some films, including "Polyester" and "Tapeheads." He died in Paris from complications after he was struck by a car.
Legacy Five performs at gospel dinner
HARTVILLE -- A Southern gospel dinner concert featuring Legacy Five will be held Thursday at Hartville Kitchen. Legacy Five, featuring members of the legendary Cathedral Quartet, garnered two Dove Award nominations for their debut release, "Strong In the Strength."
Tickets, which are $30 and include a meal, can be purchased at Hartville Kitchen or by calling (330) 877-9353. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. for the evening, with dinner served at 6 and the concert starting at 7.
Dinner theater show
CANFIELD -- Move Over Broadway Productions will present "A Vaudeville Revue" at A La Cart Catering, 429 Lisbon St.
The dinner theater show dates are Thursday and Aug. 8, 12 and 15, with dinner starting at 6:45 p.m. and the show at 8.

Classes aid stage skills
LISBON -- Stage Left Players will hold theater classes to introduce beginners to the basics and improve the stage skills of veteran performers.
Sean Loutzenhiser, a student at the American Musical and Dramatic Academy in New York, will be the instructor. Classes will be held at the Outreach Center.
Classes, which include "Body, Voice and Imagination," "How to Audition" and "On the High End," begin Aug. 8. Fees range from $20 to $50. To register, call (330) 424-509. Class size is limited.
Ballet performance
PITTSBURGH -- The Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre will hold its annual free performance at Hartwood Acres on Aug. 19 at 7:30 p.m.
The program consists of four diverse works: "Magnificat" and "Senza Fretta," both choreographed by Salvatore Aiello; Marius Petipa's pas de deux from "Sleeping Beauty"; and "Hungry Heart ...We All Have One!," choreographed by Derek Deane and set to the music of Bruce Springsteen.
Rock hall rallies bikers
CLEVELAND -- The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum will hold its second annual Great Biker BBQ in front of the museum on Key Plaza on Aug. 27 from 5:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. Visitors can park their motorcycles outside of the museum for free. Live music will be provided by Deja Voodoo and food and beverages will be available for purchase.
'Tea at Five' replaced
PITTSBURGH -- PNC Broadway's production of "Tea at Five," scheduled to run Nov. 2-14, has been replaced by "Matters of the Heart," a new show starring Broadway legend Patti LuPone, Feb. 8-20 at the Byham Theater.
LuPone, Tony Award winner of "Evita" and "Anything Goes," has garnered international critical acclaim for "Matters of the Heart." The show is described as a tour of the crimes, affairs and mysteries of the heart that includes more than two dozen love songs by theater greats and pop stars.
