Zspaces Cafe opensin the Eastwood Mall
NILES -- Zspaces Cafe, a locally owned eatery specializing in hot and cold gourmet coffee and specialty drinks, has opened in the J.C. Penney concourse of the Eastwood Mall. The cafe's menu also includes soups, salads, wrap-style sandwiches, Katie's Korner ice cream and Cheese Cake Factory desserts.
Owner Asma Ashraf of Liberty also operates two retail jewelry kiosks under the Zspaces name, one in the Niles mall and the other at the Southern Park Mall in Boardman.
Laborers' locals to offerapprenticeship program
VIENNA -- Laborers' Locals 125 and 935 will accept applications for a construction craft laborer apprenticeship program at the Builders Association of Eastern Ohio & amp; Western Pennsylvania, 1372 Youngstown-Kingsville Road. A nonrefundable $20 application fee will be charged, and applicants must provide a high school grade transcript, a birth certificate or driver's license and a military service certificate of completion, if applicable. Applications will be taken from 9 to 11 a.m. and from 1:30 to 3 p.m. Sept. 7 through 10 and from 9 to 11 a.m. Sept. 11. Call (330) 539-6050 for details.
Inventors group to meet
LIBERTY -- The Youngstown & amp; Warren Inventors Association will meet at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the township administration building, 1315 Church Hill-Liberty Road. Christina Savage, chief executive of eAuctionBlock.com in Howland, will speak on entrepreneurship and selling items by consignment on eBay. The meeting is open to the public, and there is no charge.
Conference and golf event
KENT -- The seventh annual Logistics Conference and Golf Open will be Aug. 9 at Firestone Country Club in Akron. The event is hosted by the Northeast Ohio Trade and Economic Consortium, a nonprofit economic development partnership that includes the Mahoning Valley.
Regional logistics and management professionals will speak at the conference. Registrations are due by Wednesday by calling (800) 793-0912.
