Mother in Jackson casegives birth to fourth child
LOS ANGELES -- The woman who has accused Michael Jackson of molesting her 12-year-old son gave birth to her fourth child this week.
The woman has been linked romantically to a retired military officer, and Jackson's lawyer, Thomas Mesereau Jr., said in court Tuesday that she had remarried.
On Thursday, a source close to the woman, referred to in court papers as "Jane Doe," said she gave birth to a child Wednesday in Los Angeles.
The woman has been in a custody dispute with the ex-husband who fathered her other three children, including Jackson's accuser, who is now 13.
Jackson has pleaded not guilty to charges of committing a lewd act upon a child, giving the child alcohol and conspiring to commit child abduction, false imprisonment and extortion. He is free on $3 million bail.
The woman is a key witness in the case. Given the recent birth, it was unclear whether the judge would instruct her to attend the next hearing in the case Aug. 16.
Rapper tapes videoat closed prison
MANSFIELD, Ohio -- Lil' Wayne taped a music video at the closed 108-year-old Ohio State Reformatory, which has become a popular backdrop for videos and movies.
About 30 teens showed up Tuesday for a glimpse of the 21-year-old rapper during taping for the song "Go DJ" from his album "Tha Carter."
The Mansfield Reformatory Preservation Society charged Lil' Wayne about $2,000 for the use of the west cell block, which has five tiers and 250 cells. The group needs $10 million to $20 million to renovate the site, society administrator Ed Meehin said.
The prison was used in the filming of 1994's "The Shawshank Redemption." Several years later, it appeared as a Russian prison in the movie "Air Force One."
Two other films and a 2000 music video for the group Godsmack also were made at the prison. Besides regular tours of the site, the society offers a "Hollywood" tour where they point out movie props and sites where famous scenes were filmed.
The prison, which closed in 1990, was built as a reformatory.

The band, which formed in Huntington Beach, became popular in the late 1990s on the strength of hits such as the 1997 single "Sell Out."
Hip-hop star's wifearrested on drug charge
SADDLE RIVER, N.J. -- Kimora Lee Simmons, wife of hip-hop mogul Russell Simmons, faces drug and motor vehicle charges after police said she was driving erratically and ignored the flashing lights of a cruiser for nearly two miles.
The 29-year-old Simmons was arrested just after midnight Monday outside the couple's estate in Saddle River, according to published reports.
Saddle River police and a spokeswoman for Mrs. Simmons didn't immediately return messages left by The Associated Press on Thursday.
She was charged with eluding an officer, possessing marijuana, careless driving and operating a vehicle while possessing a drug.
The former model, creative director for the Baby Phat brand, was issued a municipal court summons. She denied any wrongdoing, said her lawyer, Stacey Richman.
"It's our perception that this is just another example of a prominent member of the hip-hop community being made an example of," Richman said.
