Family dinner held to honor Parise 50th



XNILES -- Mr. and Mrs. Joseph J. Parise, 124 Hogarth Ave., were honored July 25 for the occasion of their 50th wedding anniversary during a family dinner at the Holiday Inn MetroPlex Centre in Liberty.
Hosting the event were the honorees' children, Joseph A. Parise of Columbus, J. Kenneth J. Parise of Conneaut, Terry Parise of Grand Rapids, Mich., and Jomarie Parise of Ocala, Fla.
The former Josephine Rose Grohovsky and Mr. Parise were married July 24, 1954, at St. Elizabeth Church in Campbell.
Mr. and Mrs. Parise are members of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Niles.
Mrs. Parise, now retired, was an elementary-music instructor with Liberty schools. She is an organist for various churches in Trumbull County and has served as a school-board member in the Youngstown Diocese.
Mr. Parise, who was mayor of Niles from 1988-92, is retired from Wean United in Warren, where he was personnel director. He served in the U.S. Army from 1950-54.
Six grandchildren complete the family.
