UNIVERSITY OF TOLEDO
Kimberly Blanco of Boardman was selected as valedictorian for her recent graduation from the university. Blanco, 2000 Boardman High School valedictorian, maintained a 4.0 grade average at the University of Toledo while pursuing her bachelor's degree in pharmaceutical science.The daughter of Phil and Sue Blanco, Kimberly is a member of Golden Key and Mortar Board National Honor Society. She was given the Merck & amp; Co. Award for outstanding academics in medicinal chemistry and the Rho Chi Award for classroom excellence.On campus, she belonged to the Kappa Delta Sorority and held offices with the group.
YOUNGSTOWN STATE UNIVERSITY
Nicholas Harvey II of Youngstown, son of Nicholas Sr. and Carolyn Harvey, has been selected as one of the country's most outstanding campus leaders by "Who's Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges.""Who's Who" is an annual directory of outstanding students, first published in 1934.Students named in the publication are recognized for outstanding achievements, not only in academics, but extracurricular activities as well.
BOWLING GREEN STATE UNIVERSITY
Two Mahoning Valley residents were among Bowling Green students in the universities' college of business administration who were awarded university scholarships to aid them in their studies.Shauna Munroe, a sophomore human resource management major from Poland, received a $500 Douglas C. Moeller Memorial Book Award. She is a 2002 graduate of Seminary High School and the daughter of Timothy and Karen Munroe.Allison Quinlan, a Bowling Green senior from Warren and a 2000 Howland High School graduate, was awarded a $1,000 Crowe Chizek Scholarship.Quinlan is majoring in accounting and management information systems/information systems auditing and control. She is the daughter of Bill and Bobbie Quinlan.
MOUNT VERNON NAZARENE UNIVERSITY
Courtney Roth of Canfield was one of many students recognized for her accomplishments during a special awards convocation.Roth received the Early Childhood Student Teacher of the Year Award. A senior majoring in early-childhood education, she is the daughter of Ward and Margaret Roth.
